Dumping - caught

UPDATE:
So from everything I had heard and read, the amount they chopped the rail was around $8k. Sam just made a post stating they had paid everyone back. The total? $39k

I've been following this story since it first unfolded. Then I came across a post this morning. Not sure what happened between Tom Haas and his girlfriend, and I really don't care. The mother of the girlfriend, however, wrote this 4 hours ago at the time of this writing.

Since I was called out….I want to take a moment to clarify some details regarding Thomas's phone and the release of certain messages, as I feel there may be misunderstandings circulating about what really happened. To be absolutely clear, it was me not my daughter-who had Thomas's phone, and she was not involved at all. Thomas left the phone at my house in Starkville, where he'd been living with my daughter. Following an argument between them, things ended badly, but that's their personal story and i won't go into it here.
Despite this, I've been threatened with arrest and even losing my job by another individual, so I feel it's important to set the record straight. I was solely responsible for releasing those text messages. The day after the argument, I drove to Sam's house where Thomas was staying, knocked on the door, rang the bell, and called out to return his phone. In my view, he didn't want to face me after what had transpired. I messaged his mother to let her know I had the phone and that Thomas shouldn't come back to the house. I also offered to pack his belongings and drop them off at Sam's house, which I did over the next few days while staying in town.
The phone ended up in my truck when I drove back home, a few hours away. By the following day, Thomas had a new phone. I texted him, saying I had tried to return his old phone, but he never responded. I believe my daughter also reached out to let Thomas know had attempted to bring his phone back.
Thomas was part of our family, spending holidays with us, and i genuinely cared for him. After everything unfolded, I was worried about my daughter's emotional wellbeing, so I looked through the phone to understand what happened. Yes, I was being nosy, but my concern was for my daughter. I discovered things I wish I hadn't and felt angry, but my intention wasn't to crucify Thomas.
It was while reviewing the phone that I saw texts between Thomas and Jao, and I was shocked by what I found. It made me question everything I thought / knew about him. Looking back, it seemed like Thomas had been using my daughter for a place to stay for the past year, with all expenses covered household bills, travel, clothes, everything I paid for it all. Naturally, I was upset. When I saw the list of names involved in betting and their goal to collect $20k, with plans for more in-person in NY, I recognized several names and knew it wasn't right. I felt compelled to speak up, so I reached out to someone on the list and shared the messages. That's how the information was shared.

Please do not direct any blame or questions towards my daughter-she had no part in this. If you have any questions or comments about my actions, please come directly to me. I don't lie and will answer honestly.

Two young pool players with game got caught up in the lure of fast money, the underbelly of pool. My opinion is they should learn from their mistakes and stay off social media. Like the Joshua Filler and Johnny Archer social media frenzy, it will continue to grow until it doesn't.

I do feel bad for all parties involved, including those who posted up their funds. It's a bad day for pool, especially for those of us who like action.

Joao has an apology up on Facebook now for whatever its worth.

Remember folks, the absolute worst thing in pool is knocking action, not dumping.
Are you delusional???????????? Both are pretty bad conduct but dumping is out-n-out theft. I'm not naming names but i know a pretty long list of so-called champions that took part in 'pitch-n-catch' missions. I've never live on the road making $$ with just a cue so i can't put my self in their heads trying to stay alive but its still chickenshit behavior. Knocking is nothing compared to full on dump.

You must not have read any of Bentivegna’s books.

I’ve been on the other end of a setup (me as the player) having my buddy set me up, possibly a dump (I was the backer in that one), and someone knocking my action (me as a player). None made me madder than the knock.
