My understanding is that Earl will miss the Derby in favor of attending the Chinese 8-ball event. Same thing for Appleton, Hohmann and Deuel.
Probably nearly all of the players that usually play in international events being that Manny's event is 10 ball and I believe is WPA sanctioned as a world championship. That's too bad. Makes me wonder how many big names will skip the USBTC in Reno in favor of Manny's 10-ball tournament in the Philippines.

Is there another event Chinese 8 ball event? I thought that tournament was over a week ago
That sucks. Looking at the WPA calendar on their site there are a lot of weeks they could have held that tournament and not directly conflicted with the USBTC. I won't pretend to know the politics involved with all of this but I think there's at least a chance its not an accident.
