Earl Endorses USA Pool League Calling Pool a Revolution

-------------------------------------------------------------
The USAPL is match play format, with a National Handicap System, with exclusive protected territories. This is the future of pool. All leagues play by the same rules...

Which, by the way are the BCAPL rules. Just pick up any BCAPL rule book from the last two years and turn it over. You will find a wealth of information concerning the USAPL.

Buddy

It's a good partnership.

I remember a poll a while back and it asked what pro player was the biggest influence on you as a beginner...(or something like that)

Earl was by far the favorite, running away.

Two generations have now watched Earl play. He still packs the crowds in whenever he plays. Hopefully another generation will be lucky enough to see him.

He's a long way from over the hill.

I look forward to seeing the partnership flourish. :)

Of course, Earl is not over the hil. I do hope he benefits from this partnership, too.

In case you've forgotten, I used to always be in Earl's corner and have taken a lot of heat on this forum over the years because of it. :(

I have never been to one of Earl's exhibitions, but I have read very positive reviews that folks in attendance have written.

Earl and Shane are both super stars of pool. Earl has been long time favorite US player and Shane is the bright shooting star. However, no one can challenge when Earl speaks, every one gets drawn in! He's got an addictive personality and with all the great positive feedback from fans how awesome & funny Earl is at CSI Grand Master Exhibitions, the choice was more than obvious.

We are also aware that Earl has can be controversial - however, no living US player has accomplished more than he has and that is something everyone knows :)

We at the CSI are honored and excited to have Earl affiliated with the USAPL -the league that will build a bond between amateur and pros :)

I apologize for omitting your name in my first post, Sunny. :(

Congratulations to Mark Griffin, Sunny, and Holly. Wishing you much success! :)

The USAPL and the BCAPL are two different league operations. (Just like Chevy and Cadillac are two divisions of General Motors).

BCAPL will continue like it is - and the USAPL will fill another group of players. They are two very different leagues.

BCAPL is a sanctioning body of 500 independent leagues - many playing by different games and rules. Most leagues play with a round-robin format. The National event (held each May in Vegas) is scratch. Our National Event is the 'greatest pool show on earth'. with 6,000+ amateurs and several pro events.

The USAPL is match play format, with a National Handicap System, with exclusive protected territories. This is the future of pool. All leagues play by the same rules. All leagues will have all stats on-line through 'Leaguesys' the most advanced web based system available. And this will create the amateurs and pros working together for the future growth of the game.

CSI (CueSports International) is the parent entity of BCAPL, USAPL, Jay Swanson Memorial 9-Ball, The US Bar Table Championshp, US Open 10-Ball, US Open One Pocket, National Championship Series and several other events.

I know this can be confusing - but there is a plan - and it is working.

Having Earl Strickland involved can only help in making more players aware of what we offer.

That clears things up immensely. Thank you

Because of the current economy, we had to discontinue the travels of Team CSI. We feel we did the best we could - Mark Cantrill created several cross country trips for the guys - and we put some money in their pockets. But the expenses could not be overcome.

It was another nice concept that did not quite work. But it brought great players to a lot of pool rooms in a lot of places.

The arrangement with Earl is a new agreemant. It is not with the other members of Team CSI.

We just feel that Earl is a legend and has a lot more to contribute to the pool world. We are happy to be affilited with him.

CSI - BCAPL- USAPL

I was fortunate to see the team at the BCAPL Nationals in May, and Earl especially put on quite a show. Hope to see him in action again next year, and not just in the hallway entertaining fans but in the US Open 10 Ball.

I wish both the USAPL and Earl the best of luck.

It's a team effort at CSI with Mark, CEO as the lead. The national manager of the USAPL is a collegue of ours, Mark Estes, who has been working tirelessly the past 18 months getting everything in order. We all wear multiple hats and in 25 years of my professional life, never worked with a more clear cut, dedicated and talented group.

BTW...Earl clocks a 6 to 6.5 minute mile when he runs. That impresses the heck out of me - don't know to many peeps can do that and Earl does it several times a week.

I look forward to seeing the partnership flourish. :)

I haven't forgotten by any means...I know he's a good friend of both you, and Keith. You and I have always been on the same 'team'. (great minds think alike!)

Thanks for the support!!

JAM,

No problem:wink: Mark is highly blessed and will be the first one to admit that he is surrounded by team of staffs who are highly dedicated and take pure pride in their work. He considers CSI staff as a family & friends and the relationship/dynamic in the office is incredible!

Most of the people don't receive the proper recognition publicly. Everyone's full bio are listed here: http://www.playbca.com/Contact/ContactUs.aspx

But to sum it up, here are our proud CSI group.

David V. - Mark's ultimate right hand man, or Mark's other brain - I swear they telepathically communicate... even in their sleep

Bill S. - National BCAPL Referee Director/ Rules Interpretations/ League Operator Support

Glenna S. - League Administrator - Administration guru who won't let any error gets by. Her attention to detail is scary! And that's why she's the only one who trains the 'new' or 'temp' Admin help :)

Ron G. - IT Manager - Whom we would be lost daily w/o his gift - especially Mark G

Mark E. - USAPL Manager, extremely personable and has been the main source behind trying to launch the USAPL across the US.

Holly R. - PR & Marketing Guru, her overwhelming talent is limitless! She is behind knocking out all of our press release and creative posters for all of our events.

Tessie V. & Sara B. - New Membership Assistant : They assist Glenna updating and managing the data base of all of current & past members of BCAPL, tournament entries and everything administrative.

John C. - (Welcome new hire) League liaison: Will work closely side by side with Mark E. to grow the USAPL.

I have said it before.

It's like a family....

ZERO turnovers tell you how happy people are to be a part of it. That speaks volumes in itself.

You tell John C......that he's an awfully lucky fellow!

My only real suggestion for a fun league that would attract serious pool players that are serious about their game would be to have a league that plays exclusively on the big tables.
Don't get me wrong, in my very limited recent exposure to small tables, I've developed a bit of respect for those that really play well on the small tables. But there's another side of me that still believes small tables make the weekend warrior bangers that have only the gift of slow rolling straight appear to be better players than they really are.
People need to get out there and play on the big tables.
