Earl Strickland/John Schmidt altercation at BCA

On second thoughts, go JAM! I am tired of closet and blatant anti USA sentiments and I think we have as much right to root for our players as anyone else.

Damn right!

WTF is wrong wanting Americans to win American tournaments?? What's wrong with wanting them to win EVERY tournament in the world? I'd sure like to see it, along with the majority of Americans.

Americans tend to stick together! Since we live in the best country in the world, I guess we are a little spoiled..........

GO USA!!!

Zzzzzzz,

When you´ve been to the "otherside of the pond" I might listen to your opinion!
Can't we all get along? But, what fun would that be for us down to earth free thinkers???
Sorry "the One" One of what Craig? Did I hear a lot of superiority & judgement? duh
I have been to the other side of the pond and nearly slept for two years. zzzzzzz
I was so hungry for good old American pool by the time i got home i could have kissed the first pool room floor.
I appreciate the stoic snooker players, little banter, and poker faces. I really love good pool in any form. I still choose wit, wisdom, good form, a great leave, and even a touch of class. Frankly I found it hard to find billiards in other countries. At least here we often put a big sign out front.

Thanks for sharing. To each his own. Jolly on old sport. And cudos again to jay.
Respectfully,

You know it is racist if you say anything positive about the USA! How dare you support the USA and our players? Just because the majority of fans in other countries support their players and have national pride doesn't mean it is OK for you to. You know that every nation is a separate race so your remarks are not only nationalistic but racist!!

I can't believe that you would post garbage like this about someone else's country!!

Oops!!! Pardon me JAM. Boy is my face red. That is The One's nationalist racist comments. I can't help noticing that the british buckingham guards are all lily white while the US soldiers are multi-race too. Looks like some racism there to me also.

On second thoughts, go JAM! I am tired of closet and blatant anti USA sentiments and I think we have as much right to root for our players as anyone else.

Thanks for a great contribution to this ugly thread. :D

I was in consultation with my contact in New Jersey last night, and we spoke about the upcoming inaugural All-American Open to take place sine die.

May the best American win! :p

BOOM. Shake it.
Boom, boom. Shake it. Shake it.
BOOM. Shake it.
Boom, boom. Shake it. Shake it.

Take me out to the pool game.
Give me a flag for each hand.
Buy me some peanuts and crackerjacks.
I don't care if I ever come back.

Oh, it's root, ROOT, ROOT for Americans.
If they don't win, it's a shame.
We shall strive to win all of the time

You know what's happening, my fellow American! Keep on pulling for the U.S. of A. There's so many great things about this country, one of them being American pool. There ain't nothing like it anywhere else in the world. That's why they flock to our shores and compete in our events.

We need to keep pool alive and well. Support American pool. Buy an American-made cue. God bless America and all of its pool players!

Joey: It's not that I'm anti-american, I'm anti-nationality. I don't say rah-rah germany either. When I watch players shoot, I just don't see it as 'that guy's american' and 'that guy isn't'. I certainly don't see 'robots' or 'aliens'. I see people and I could care less about where they were born.

Also, maybe she and TheOne have history... but eleven or twelve people were offended in that thread by what she said, and I'm one of them. So... I handle it personally (and yes, I tried doing so via PM rather than call her out in a public forum. She chose to ignore it).

I don't think you even know you have it, so you can say things like that and believe it.

Okay, the next time you're around all your foreign friends at the pool hall, tell them that the only reason their amateurish countrymen get to play in some of our events is because of the giant brown spots on their nose. Disrespect some of their heros. Call your friends boring robotic alien players. Complain about how they're screwing up american events like the US Open, maybe imply they're robbing deserving americans of the chance at the title. If they aren't shooting with american cues, tell them they're playing with foreign-made pieces of crap. Then do the verbal equivalent bold red capital letters "USA ALL THE WAY" to them.

Can you see where they might be offended?

I could say the same about your contributions to the forum.

...outside of all this squabbling with you, I seem to do OK. I get along with other people (even Russ, sort of, lol). I talk about pool in my other posts and I get the occasional thank-you note or rep. It's just that stuff you say really pushes my buttons and brings out the worst in me. I sincerely would rather stick to talking pool and not have this negative stuff every time I go to look at new posts.

You're entitled to your opinions about foreign players, and maybe you feel like "if anyone tries to shut me up and keep my from voicing my opinion, I'll just say it twice as loud". Well, that's spirited and all, but sometimes discretion is best.

I truly think you bring up nationality in threads where it isn't relevant. I'm not saying "never talk about nationality", just don't drag it out when it's got nothing to do with the current topic. It's annoying. It's like you go to a dinner party expecting to have enjoyable food and conversation, and some guy starts bringing up abortion or gun control and suddenly a dozen people are yelling at each other. All of this could be avoided if you'd stop going out of your way to say shit like BY THE WAY USA ALL THE WAY in giant red letters every day.

Is it time to list all the supportive private messages and green REP I have received because of this thread yet? I'm waiting for the lightning round.

Should I mention the three phone calls I received last night in support of my American stance on this thread?

There is no track anymore because you and me. You crossed the line for the last time when you insulted my boyfriend, an American veteran pool player who can dance circles around you on a field of green. How dare you.

An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth, I look forward to seeing you on this American tournament trail up front and close, so that I can express to you in person, and not on this moderated forum, my thoughts.

JAM

Jam, this is a billiards forum correct?

Well, let's play some!

Keith can give this BRIT the last three, lets bet it up. Forget about all this forum stuff. Lets get on the field of green, then we will see if the insult's continue.
Would you like to play some "BRIT"..........???????????..................

I don't understand why people keep draggin Kieth into this.... :( (Ok, it starts to look like a nightmare that just keeps getting worse and worse, but apart from that)

Isn't this a battle between JAM and TheOne, where all we others are trying to flame them up? Have I missed something, again?

The tournament trail up ahead just may be rewarding for the Earthquake. He's in good spirits, well rested, and healthy as an American thoroughbred horse. So...

LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE!

TheOne said:
As a PLAYER and life long Snooker and Pool fanatic I'm still convinced there is nothing stopping pool from making it on American TV if certain people stop making lame excuses and blaming everyone else for not cashing anymore!

This one was pretty insulting, Roy, and was made with the intention of targeting me as well as demeaning my boyfriend's ability to cash in pool tournaments.
