Early TAD?

Without this thread, it probably would have sold for 500-1000 less. Guess the new owner won't get as good of a deal as he might have. Oh well.

Any (albeit slim) chance of a great deal was killed the second this cue was posted on here.

Joe, look more like a 5/16-18 thread pin.

Duc.

My old eyes are just failing me, Duc. I only counted 7-8 threads like Scruggs cues have left above the joint. Granted, the threads definitely need some cleaning out. Beautiful old cue. I had one of his early feather cues back a year or two ago...what great craftsmanship.

it only has one shaft!!there is another that has 2 and no issues .. that has been on ebay for months at 3500 and no bites

Is is just me or does TAD have much tighter veneer work back then....

Please. There is still the opportunity to use the natural AZ negativity to sour the sale. I don't like the seller's feedback.

or

I think its a high-jacked account.

or

I don't think the seller has a cue. Lets make him post a pic of a recent newspaper while holding the cue (the hostage deal is my favorite).

or

We could go back to to my missing veneer dodge.

Not a Carmelli, cue would have been 3/8x10 if Carmelli.

There you go. IDing Ariels is obviously beyond the scope of my knowledge.

Doesn't change the fact that anybody that bids on the possible maybe but probably not TAD this thread is about is putting their money in grave peril, not to mention the 8 years bad luck I hear is attached to some eBay actions.

Thanks

Kevin

Of course that 8 years of bad luck isn't attached to any of your auctions or even any of your actions.

I'm probably, at this time, the only known safe way to buy on eBay.

Thanks for pointing that out.

I've asked the seller to post of picture of him holding the cue with a current newspaper while rubbing his belly and patting his head. Until he does so, I highly recommend not bidding.

I'll let you guys know when its safe.

To all you TAD experts: I see that the boxes in the butt sleeve are mitered joints. I only recall the veneers being stacked.
