EBAY WHP: EBONY OR NOT?

Not Ebony- most probably Rosewood- I owned one similar to that once, but in much better condition.

maple, rosewood.

eBay is insane right now, people are paying stupid money for cues and balls, and for the life of me I don't understand why...

Also, you have people who don't know shit about billiards stuff. They see other bat-shit crazy auctions for something that LOOKS LIKE the thing they have so they copy the listing text with no clue if it even applies to their item and will increase the price by about $150 over what the other item and then list that shit.

WTF is a "lick" piece?? Are you telling me that you are supposed to lick the cue above the bumper?? Why am I the last person to learn this?? Also, does the seller think that the leather wrap is Ebony? I see no black wood on this cue. My McDermott D19 looks like black paint until you put it under a bright light and the wood grain becomes visible.

OMG, you are definitely the only player not licking their cue in that general area between each shot.

Now you know the secret to adding an extra 50 points to your Fargo rating...

You know, I started really paying attention during tournament streams and I think I see the "butt licking" now. I can't wait to shoot in my next local tournament, I am sure if I pay attention I will see all of the other players doing this too. Regardless, I'm going to start practicing my "butt licking" this very night, in fact when I go to my basement in a few hours at home to shoot a few racks its game on!!!
Let the butt licking commence. :):):)

Looks to me like it may be Purpleheart. If the buyer is a member please update the wood type. I like it but out of my price range.

Its brown
Typical rosewood they used
750 for that cue is way too much
They don't play good
Glue is not good so collars usually loose
56to57 inches
Shadt won't ever be straight

Sorry, I don’t see the word “ebony” in the auction description anywhere…..
