I am putting this in the Wanted/For Sale section because I believe it really belongs here for the proper audience viewing and response.

From time to time, the subject of using escrow on transaction with either new sellers or questionable sellers has been discussed in the forums. I would like to compile a list of members in excellent standing that would be willing to represent the buyer on occassions where the seller is in their area.

Once the list is finalized for the various regions of the U.S.(City, State) and possibly some international regions (City, Country), I will utilize my website as a fixed point reference where buyers and sellers can go to find who is available for a specific region.

I will also create individual directories on the website for each agent to list any pertinent information they want listed regarding contact and terms of service. If the agent supplies me with usable scripting for a one page webpage, I will upload it to their directory as well. No ladvertising links will be allowed unless it is to their website.

If anyone is wondering how much I want for doing all of this or supplying the website webpage availability, the answer is nothing more than the satisfaction of using my paid-for webspace for something worthwhile, unlike the spoof on LWW's campaign for President I have running on it right now. www.ourauctionguy.com



How to get started:

1) City, State or region you are willing to provide service for.
2)Your AZB member name
3)your current iTrader total, and include number of negatives
4)member since date
5)your real first name (last name is optional for now)
6)ebay name for additional reference if you have one.

This is only a preliminary list for me to sort through and contact members to finalize details as they are accepted.

I do not expect this to be a money maker for anyone but a valuable service offering for those special circumstances. Escrow transaction are not limited to billiards and cue sales. If someone needs representation for another type of item or even a questionable ebay transaction, you will have a resource to find someone in that area.

Thanks for your support. I know this can work. And for those who have always paid lip service to this idea.. It is time to step up and show the world what the AZBilliards community can do together working together. This a site to be reckoned with. The details will work themselves out as we get this going. I could have used a locall rep a few times, but ended up passing on the deals not wanting to take on the risk of being the first to get burned by a newbie both here and on ebay.

Nothing ventured ... nothing gained.
 
I will be starting on redesigning my main webpage to get this going this week. Several outstanding AZers have responded by pm and email to help get this started and sign-up for their regions. I will be contacting everyone who is signeing up with more information later in the week. Let's keep it going to get a really good coverage map. I expect to have something up by next weekend to build upon and hope we can watch it grow from there.

I've Offered This So Many Times, To Just Watch Guys Get Burned That It Actually Upsets Me. If You Don't Get Anyone In My Area, I Would Do It.

Problem Is, Most Cue Buyers Are So Cheap They Don't Want To Spend Any Many To Stay Protected. I Offered To Do Escrow For 20 Bucks, On A 4000 Cue, The Buyer Passed And Got Scammed. I Bet He Wishes He Would Have Taken My Advice.
 
It might be a good idea to add a "Donate" tab like The Action Report has done to help fund your efforts. I know you said you'd use your web space for nothing, but i'm sure that alot of us would gladly donate something each time we used it to help fund such a worthy cause. I've never bought a cue from here (need money to do that, lol), but if I were to find one I liked that was being sold by a new member, i'd gladly use this service. Thanks in advance to all of those who offer the time and expertise. I truly feel this is a worth-while cause that needs to be set up, and kudos to you for taking the initiative to start up what we have all known needs to be done.

an example of how it would work exactly, and could the escrow person be legally liable if something did not work out in the deal.

Are there to be standard rates for the escrow people to charge, or varying rates dependent on cue value.

What about postal or shipping fees?

for me the numbers mean nothing. if you want to pay $2k for a 1200$ cue is none of my buisness. the number will be worked out on your end. all shipping will be fully insured. i an only here to pass money and report condition on the cue and check for straightness. i will charge a flat fee for my service. 25$ plus fully insured shipping to the buyer paid to me. all reciepts will be provided
