I imagine this is a replay of either:

• The Oct., 2014 Women's International Tournament of Champions. The 4 players were Kelly Fisher, Allison Fisher, Karen Corr, and Ga-Young Kim, or

• The Oct., 2014 Men's International Challenge of Champions. The 4 players were Thorsten Hohmann, Darren Appleton, Shane Van Boening, and Dennis Orcollo.

Either way, not a world championship.

Valley center?

I didn't know there was any pool hall in Valley Center. I'm not even aware of any 9 foot tables there. Is there some mistake?

My TV description states...

World 9 Ball Championship - The 39th annual US Open WPA 9 ball Championships features defending champion Thorsten Hohmann and 127 more of the worlds best pool players.

Now that is just a jumble of random titles LOL, the US Open is not a "world" championship. The 39th US Open was last year (this year was the 40th) so that may be right, but Thorsten is not the defending champion there.

Does anyone know if those can be streamed on ESPNs web site? I know that ESPN3 is online, is ESPN2 also? I'll be sitting in a tournament with my son (he is playing but not me) so need to have it on a stream to watch.

Pretty sure this is a replay of the Challenge of Champions. The World Championship thing is obviously erroneous and was put on there by somebody who tried to figure out something from a bad google or wikipedia search. I think the first time it was aired Thorsten was the defending world champ.

Neither of those tournaments were played in CA. They were in CT.

No, you're a bit behind, Scott.

Both tournaments were played in Uncasville, CT for many years through 2012. In 2013, no men's event was held, but the women's event was in Springfield, MA. In 2014, both events were held in Valley Center, CA.

The 2014 Men's International Challenge of Champions, the Women's International Tournament of Champions, and Trick Shot Magic were played at Harrah's Resort Southern California on October 7th, 8th, and 9th, 2014, respectively.

Musta been an ESPN minion to call it a WORLD Championship !

They think they know but they don't.
Not pool anyway !
Your right, but I think ESPN has much better attorneys than CW !!!
So it won't get changed.

:yeah:

7-8 years ago ESPN used to show pool daily at 10 or 11AM. Then it slipped, and was relegated to 3/4 AM. Same time slot other stations give out to infomercials. I'm glad pool has crept back into daytime slots. It's an encouraging sign.

They have to have something to fill the time slots
