Everest Tip

Hi

I was wondering if anyone has ever used a Everest tip and how good is it compared to a moori?

Intrested in getting a new 314-2 shaft but never heard of this everest tip before. May stick with a Moori as i had good experiences with it.

Am i right in thinking the new gen 2 shafts have no problems fitting with my main cue as long as the link is the same as my old one. In this instance uni-loc? I got a Predator 4k1 cue.

Cheers

Kyo
- just wanted to report my experience having swapped from the Moori to the Everest tip - Based on 1 nights shooting only - my vote goes to the Everest - until now i have been a Moori medium guy - just 1 mans opinion - G'day mate!

Good luck with it - the Moori soft did not work so well for me, and I'm not a big fan of the 314 shaft but it might be the home run for you - I hope you never miss a ball with it - unless of course you wanna give me the 5 and all the breaks.

It wasn't an attack at you or tiger personally - it was a question of why spend so much money on a predator cue when you could buy a cheaper cue and put and then put a tiger shaft on it. I didn't call you a name - I said i have better things to do than talk to a wall. As in no matter what I say it is going to bounce off. If you take offense to being compared to a wall - then I am sorry - you have every right to voice your opinion just as I have every right to question why someone would do that. Good luck.

by the way - trying different tips has nothing to do with buying a Predator cue and putting a Tiger shaft on it.

Thanks,

BVal
OK BVal!
I sincerely have no wish to contribute to anything unpleasent for any fellow humans (poolplayers included) - if I reacted poorly to you in any way and you meant no offense - my bad! Good luck to you and I hope you hit em like mosconi - I was only trying to respond to the guys request/post - maybe I was a wee bit defensive !

I have a 2nd gen 314 and love the Everest tip. I think you will be happy. I have played with the Moori and found them a bit similar. Im shooting with A Joss and like the solid hit feel whle being able to put action on the ball. Good Luck, Have Fun. I also have a 5280 with the Everest Medium tip and that shoots great too!

I was told by my local distributor that the 314/2 had been recalled because of problems with the ferrules and the glue. He said that the new 314/2 will bew available in 2 weeks and that 314 1st generation would no longer be available. I got a new custom but the shaft is too stiff for me and I am going back to the Predator 314. I am ordering the partial and my cuemaker is going to put a collar on that matches the rest of the cue. I'm not even going to play anymore until I get the new 314/2. The relearning is just too frustrating.

I just sent an email to the vendor that I bought it from, asking about the Predator recall and whether my new shaft's ferrule/glue has been replaced. If it hasn't, then I would consider it to be a "defective" shaft.

I have always like the Moori Medium tip but decided to try the Everest when it shipped with my P2 shaft. Suprisingly, I prefer it over the Moori.
Glad that I gave it a chance..

In my humble opinion...screw the everest, screw the moori, screw layered tips. Nothing hits like a triangle. I started with the triangle, then tried out the moori, then the everest, then the sniper, and now back to the triangle.

Drew, Shhushss, you know not what you speak of. ;) The Sniper is the best tip on the market!

For me, I tried both Moori Medium and Everests and Everests are softer and quieter (the "thud" rather than "click" sound) than Moori Mediums. Everests also has for me just the right amount of grab on the cue ball without being spongy so I find that speed and spin are more predictable. I tried many tips and the one I keep going back to is Everest. However, preferences would have to depend on your game. I like softer hitters and soft "thud" and feel of the Everest is just right for me.

The Everest is my personal favorite in our lineup and the tip I use. They are very consistent tip to tip. Making for little if any adjustments for me after tip changes.

Is the Everest tip alot harder then the Sniper tip?

muellers rating scale has the sniper at 66.9 and the everest at 75.1 though tigers website has the sniper at medium-hard and everest at medium

Bump this topic. So what really is harder? Everest or Sniper?

Muellers lists Everests at 75.1 while Sniper gets 66.9

Tiger Website claims Snipers are medium hard while Everets are medium.

I think I would go with the manufacturer here but it's hard to ignore mueller's ratings.

Anyone??

If you like a soft tip and tend to use a lot of spin, you'll love the Everest. It's soft, yet requires little maintenance, and holds the cue ball like no other tip I've tried. If you like Elk Masters, you'll love the Everest because it requires much less maintenance. If you like harder tips like Mooris tend to be, you may not like the Everest at all.

Snipers are also med-soft and grip well, but not like the Everest. From my experience using both, I agree with the Tiger statement that the Everest is softer than the Sniper.
