Excited about the Mosconi Cup

That's pretty good.

I wish there was a way to bring an " Asia " team into the event.

Ko, Efren, Chang, Orcullo, Busty...
maybe the reason not to bring an Asia team is that everybody knows the winner before the lag (hands down Taiwaneese players and some China or Rodrigo Edgie Geronimo along with Denis Pinoys will kill everyone except maybe Niels or SVB)

i asked some friends of friends from liverpool to describe blackpool. they said it was shit, a terrible terrible place. years ago when they went they knew they would be in a fight. no it's a shell of itself as a home to sport and recreation in the fifties. a long time ago. very sad.

my Brits said the same thing. we were going to go, and their comments were: "better you than me". the place where it's being held, used to be where they had circus acts (like Barnum & Bailey).

having said that - i'm sure that for 1000 attendees, the town is going to LIGHT UP and ROLL OUT THE RED CARPET for MOSCONI!!!! :happydance:

You're a bit delusional aren't you. Sorry to hear that

1,2 barbecue

I really hope i am wrong. If they think they are going to make it with the arsenals they got good for them, and hope they do! Luck always could go either way anyway.

Plus why do you guys think we are better now! we got beat 11-2 last time in our homeland; With best USA players Shane Van Boening, Rodney Morris, Dennis Hatch, Earl Strickland, Johnny Archer, Buddy Hall

I will keep high spirit and hope for US "young team" to win!

Hmm.... I was just looking through some old rule books and found this from Blackpool. Maybe you could check out the location. Tell them W.B. Foster sent you.

Just wondering, does Matchroom provide security for the venue? That looks like a miniature bullfighting ring. The thought of over a thousand drunk screaming Brits in that place could get dicey real quick.. Mark may want to equip every player with earplugs (Shane not included).;)

I think York Hall (previous two or three Euro venues) is probably louder. It has a curved ceiling that sends the sound back and I think it's smaller.

Looking forward to seeing some great pool. Win or lose, just gonna enjoy this and will refrain from knocking the players if they lose, cause you can't win'em all, and you can't always play your best pool, and even if you do, sometimes the other team is just better, and there is no shame in that

A very wise man once said "the games aren't played on paper." In other words, it's time to make it happen. Let's do this!

I heard that the US Secret Service has snipers posted in several places, to protect Team USA from unruly Brits threatening harm. I don't think the mandate was "shoot to kill" unless necessary! :D

Naji forgive me for intervening here but are you saying the U.S. players need to work on their stance, bridge and stroke? If so I call hogwash on you!

I wish i was wrong Jay. I guess after the dust settle, a complete overhaul is due. Most US players extend their forward stroke much more than they need, and end up steering, and tip contact at wrong place on CB. Sorry! It takes one miss and you out!
