Extremely unique wrapless Ginacue: 3 piece snakewood handle
I wanted to start another project with Ernie Gutierrez about six months ago. After 40+ years of cuemaking it is a challenge to find a new origainal design for Ernie. I had an idea in my head and it was something he had not done before.
We talked a few times on the phone and finally established a design. A 3 piece snakewood handle seperated by three elegant silver and ivory rings. Ernie said that this handle was an incredible engineering challenge. (all three pieces were 20 laminated pieces all put back together so the grain all matched up perfectly).
For the rest of the cue, 4 long ivory points, 4 short snakewood points and veneers that really accented the snakewood (white, yellow, orange and black). Ivory joint and ivory butt cap with a silver medallion containing his logo.
Finally I wanted an absolute one of a kind set of joint protectors. He said he would come up with something new. I was shocked at the finished product.
These pictures could never do this cue justice. It is absolutely stunning in person. Take a look...................
