Extremely unique wrapless Ginacue: 3 piece snakewood handle

I wanted to start another project with Ernie Gutierrez about six months ago. After 40+ years of cuemaking it is a challenge to find a new origainal design for Ernie. I had an idea in my head and it was something he had not done before.

We talked a few times on the phone and finally established a design. A 3 piece snakewood handle seperated by three elegant silver and ivory rings. Ernie said that this handle was an incredible engineering challenge. (all three pieces were 20 laminated pieces all put back together so the grain all matched up perfectly).

For the rest of the cue, 4 long ivory points, 4 short snakewood points and veneers that really accented the snakewood (white, yellow, orange and black). Ivory joint and ivory butt cap with a silver medallion containing his logo.

Finally I wanted an absolute one of a kind set of joint protectors. He said he would come up with something new. I was shocked at the finished product.

These pictures could never do this cue justice. It is absolutely stunning in person. Take a look...................

Congrats Jimmy on a Medallion Gina! That thing is totally and completely awesome...especially the Snakewood handle...WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to see that bad boy in person.

Beautiful. I can back up all the time he puts into working with snakewood. And three different pieces in the handle. All those separate pieces of wood each cut and mitered to form the handle, with all the grain matching up!

I'm glad this bad boy is out the door because I've got an order I'm waiting on. lol :)

Jimmy,

So this is the cue that you told me at SBE...i can see in your face that you are excited about this cue...and finally its done..and WOW..i am speechless...that is one of my favourite ginacue ever to date.....wow it came out really really awesome!!!!!!...thanks for sharing man..hope to see that next year at VF....congrats again ...

The cue really turned out very well.
Love the vibrant colors, the segmented handle and the choice of woods.
Came together very well.

Enjoy and talk to you soon.

Amazing cue!!! Ernie does some great work. The rings look like they're alternating silver and ivory, is this correct?

Simply stated, that is one of the best looking Gina's I have ever seen. The design has long been one of my favorite Gina designs. But done like this... well, its damn near perfect.

Congrats!

Guys, thanks for all the compliments. This cue turned even better than I could have ever expected.

Special thanks to Kevin Brewer, who lives close to Ernie and gave me many updates and took the pictures of Ernie at his shop.

Now all I have to do is come up with the next cue that challenges Ernie even more...................
