Actually Joe, most of the inlaid SW cues have been inlaid by Mottey. Awesome work every cue I saw.

Fellas please slow down about comments on Mottey and Southwest
Mottey only did a very, very few cues with Southwest cues and everyone was a cue that Laurie gave me for Paul to inlay for me to keep or sell.
He never inlaid any other cues with the knowledge and approval of Southwest,nor has anyone else outside of the southwest shop.
I always loved the hit of the southwest cue and the designs of Mottey,both were among the very finest so I had a little fun.
Bill Grassly liked the idea and made me a generous offer to buy the cues before they were completed.He added some of his thoughts and gave the project to the finest scrimshaw artist he could find,Sandra Brady.
The rest is before you now.If I had realized how great this cue would turn out,I would never have sold it.It embodies the best of the Southwest cues history and the image of the west.
I heard that Rusty Melton and Ron Thomas recently did a case with Ron's case and Rusty's tooling. Wouldn't it be great to have this cue in that case?
Paul Mottey never inlaid a single cue for southwest other than these very few,not that it would be anything if he had.But this is the only time Laurie has approved of anyone outside the shop to work on a southwest cue.
And on these very few,her sole contribution was understood to be limited to giving me the unfinished cue,with no liability for the future since she had not completely finished the cue.
I stated these facts in order to limit the enthusiastic comments based on lack of exact knowledge of the facts.
I wish I had kept the cue now,but I wish Bill the best with this truly one of a kind masterpiece that can never be duplicated.3 great artist on a cue that is second to none,Southwest.

PAUL DID A FEW FOR DEAN, BUT NOT "MOST" OF THE INLAID SW'S.

JOE AND DEAN ARE ACCURATE. THE PROJECTS JOE MENTIONED WERE THE CUES DONE FOR DEAN.
THE MOTTEY SHOP HAS ALSO DONE SOME WRAPS, AND THINGS FOR SOUTH WEST, BUT AS FAR AS THE FANCY CUES, IT WAS THE ONES FOR DEAN.
IT'S FUNNY HOW FAST BAD INFORMATION CAN SPREAD, I'M GLAD DEAN POSTED TO THE THREAD.
