Hi all,

Here are some pictures of a new wrapless butterfly cue I received today from Paul Fanelli. I am a big, big fan of Paul`s work, and own 7-8 of his butterfly cues. This is my first wrapless, and needless to say, I am delighted with the cue in every way.

The cue is done in the flame veneers with purpleheart in the middle of the cue and ebony at the ends. Note the wonderful wavy veneers in the rings, done by Paul for the first time in this cue. The joint protector set "tops off" the cue, and I am a very happy camper.

I give Paul my highest recommendation, and if you have been thinking of having someone like Paul build a cue, please give him a call. He is a perfect gentleman, a friend, and a craftsman of world class caliber.

Thanks for looking. If questions, please let me know.

I had a long talk one night with Watchez at Shooters-Olathe, and he ordered a wrapless cue from Paul that he recently received. His cue is literally stunning! I saw it a few weeks ago in DesMoines, and I could hardly wait to receive mine.

If you search under the name Fanelli on AZ you can find some excellent pictures of his cue. You will also find a detailed thread that shows how stellar the ongoing interaction with Paul Fanelli is during the construction interval.

My conversations with Watchez at Shooters are what spurred me to order this cue for my collection, and I am really glad we spoke, Watchez!!!

mr fanelli does some amazinggggggg things
still waiting for him to adopt me :D
would love to see some more closeups of various sections of this cue, please

Wow!!!!

Simply stunning. How the hell did he do those rings?!!!. I never realized Mr. Fanelli was able to do such work, I've heard great things about him from very knowledgeable people, but he flies under the radar for most of us.

Thanks for the look...............TommyT

Oh my god!!! That cue is just too much for words! I love the rings! I love the pointwork. I love the butterflies.

I love the fact that I have to stare at it for about 20 minutes and I STILL have no idea what is the base of a point or a butterfly or.... its just plain mindblowing!!!!

I love Paul's cues and the fact that everythign he puts out is unique. Just when people think 'everything's been done already', well... along comes Paul Fanelli proving all those people wrong.

Gorgeous cue! Congratulations on a true gem. And thanks for sharing.

WHooo boy...

I didn't see this when it was getting finish, but I have been privy to the rings and he really came up with a really, really, nice ring, that is non-inlaid.. again.. no cnc, just good old necessity engineering..

That is one hell of a Fanelli and he always comes out with the big stuff.. people ask why they don't see more, it's because when he gets an idea he has to see it through.. for example when he came with the celtic weave, he did a run of a few cues, then he went wrapless, he did a run of a few cues..then he had this in mind.. he couldn't do a run until he cultivated and perfected the idea.. so that is why Paul doesn't make a lot of cues. So maybe he does 10-15 a year..

I know certain cuemakers like to say they build a 20-30 point cues, let me say you ain't counting these.. this would be like a 60 point traversing, 40 point intersecting, 8 crown points in the bottom, bla..bla..bla...

It's always a pleasure to go see him and it's always mind blowing when he brings his case to the pool hall.. you know he is going to show you something you have never seen before..

Will- I think I am the one that is the most glad that we spoke. I will continue to prod you for info. You made an excellent suggestion for my next cue with Gilbert and I can't wait til it is complete. I am hoping to see Andy this weekend in St Louis to get an update. Be nice if you could make the trip yourself.

Even though I have my Fanelli, I am certainly jealous of yours. I am glad that you got yours - you had trouble putting mine down when I showed it to you. Another stunning piece of art by Paul. You know I love dark cues and those colors really pop out of the cue. The rings are simply unbelievable. Paul continues to do things that no one else is. Hopefully he will continue to get universal recognition for his work.

Only because someone asked and Will mentioned it, here are a couple of pics of my Fanelli that do not do it justice. JCIN took some pics up in Des Moines and better images should be coming soon.

Watchez,

Thanks for adding your pictures to the post. The two cues sure show off well together! The wrapless work is just hard to beat. See you soon.

JV,

Thanks for the nice comments! You are fortunate to live by Paul and see his work on an ongoing basis. I know he does not make a lot of cues, and I can imagine how much fun it is to see the next thing up his sleeve.

Take care,

Will
