Farewell AZ Billiards-My Final Thread Here

I am taking a voluntary hiatus from AZ Billiards.Whether it's permanent or not I've yet to decide.I am certain however, that I have worn out my welcome here and I stick out like a sore thumb on this board of conservatives. My opinions on many topics are viewed as racist because of the controversial nature of my views on issues.coupled with the fact that I just flat out don't see things the same way that most of you do.

In the beginning,I admittedly tried to make my presence felt on this forum. As a pool player,I felt at home here, and guy's like Joey A.welcomed me with open arms.I would come up with an idea, post it,and for the most part get a favorable response.I always tried to keep it light and entertaining.I think things began to change for me about 2 months ago.I got into an arguement with Shooting Arts(ABOUT THE SAINTS,IMAGINE THAT)that got waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out of hand.I completely lost my cool and called him some terrible, insulting things that he later post on the forum.Well, needless to say that was when the bottom fell out for Walt Frazier .I was under attack from every direction, the entire forum had turned and with good reason.I said some awful things to SA and in hindsight,if the shoe was on the other foot(if those words I used on him were used on me) I probably would be in jail right now for doing something to him. That is why I will say this,Shooting Arts I have the utmost respect for you as a man.You are trully a class act.You handled that way better than I would have.

Long story short,I created another screen name to help my cause. No luck.I did'nt cover my tracks that well.I got booted. So I was back to square one, minus the credibility with 90% of the forum. To top it all off,I am now considered a racist which is the farthest from the truth.I am a pool player.I have played/gambled with whites for years with not a mention of race ever even coming up.I will take the racist tag however because my stance on certain issues may be viewed as biased.I have always spoke my mind and will continue to do so.It is -what it is......

Jay Helfert: you are my favorite poster here.I always enjoy your insight and humor. If you are ever in La.look me up,I'll have a couple of pounds of crawfish with potatoes, sausage, corn, onion and all the Budweiser you can stand.

Bval:I think Bval knew that I knew he'd post my pm to him(which led to my getting banned) I did'nt want to come out and say"post this pm" so instead,I did the next best thing and said"don't post this pm"LMAO.Bval is a good guy,I have nothing but respect for him .

LILJOHN:My avatar is the one and only Ester Baxter. Peace!

Man I never get mentioned in these kind of threads... I really have to start making a name for myself.

Okay here it goes...

ummm

yeah...

Maybe I'll start next week.

farewell

well you know how it goes with him he thought he had a better post but he knew his day would come :)

thanks

Hey Walt, I got one question for you. Can Ester stay? :):)
I promise to take good care of her. :)

I kinda know how you feel. Trust me when I tell you, everyone on here probably feels like taking a break sometimes. I know I have and occasionally do.

Even though you're conveying bad news, this is one of your best threads, the way you put a "read" on everyone. I think you should do more of this, maybe giving us a read on the poolplayers you (and us) know.

Well, enjoy your vacation and try not to make any bad games. And if one day someone tells you there's a bald headed old fart in the poolroom looking for a Bank game, get your ass off the couch and get down there. You never know where I may show up. :)

If I ever write a thread like that I promise to mention you, if you mention me. Deal? :D

Bye Walt. (Ironically you leave when I have taken you off the ignorelist)

I do pull for the saints . . .

I do pull for the saints. Seems like we are going to have to create a special bowl just for them if we are ever going to see them in a bowl game though. I was thinking that we could squeeze in one more bowl on Thanksgiving Day. We could play in the dome and pair them with the worst prep school team in the city. We would call it the Turkey Bowl of course! :D :D :D

Sorry to rag you as a going away present. The saints are what they are, the most talented group of individuals to ever play so lousy together! I can't tell you how glad I was when Ricky got his ring.

THANK GOD!! Walt, I know you are reading this.....and still don't care. Good luck at anything you do, as long as I am not around it.

I was hoping that you stay.If you play with white people or black poeple or what ever, it dont make you a racist.

I'm torn...as to which way to go with this. I'll let everyone else choose...

Should I go "hard" with...

...or should I go "soft" with...

I'm just kidding around. I don't care anyway. LOL If I don't like someone's posts, I just don't read them and go on with my life. There's gobs of threads to choose from and I tend to skip Walt's.

Auld Lang Syne - THE REST OF THE STORY

Auld Lang Syne

Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And auld lang syne?

Chorus:
For auld lang syne, my jo,
For auld lang syne.
We'll tak' a cup o'kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.

And surely ye'll be your pint-stoup
And surely I'll be mine;
And we'll tak' a cup of kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.

Chorus

We twa hae run about the braes,
And pou'd the gowans fine;
But we've wander'd mony a weary fit,
Sin' auld lang syne.

Chorus

We twa hae paidl'd in the burn
Frae morning sun till dine;
But seas between us braid hae roared',
Sin' auld lang syne,

Chorus

And there's a hand, my trusty frier!
And gie's a hand o'thine!
And we'll tak' a right guide-willie waught,
For auld lang syne.

Chorus

THE STORY OF AULD LANG SYNE

Undoubtedly, millions of people throughout the world will sing Auld Lang Syne to see out 1995. Few will know all the words and fewer still what they mean.

They are attributed to Robert Burns who apparently picked up the tune and some of the words from an old man singing in the dialect of southwest Scotland. Auld Lang Syne has become the international song of departure, and is sung by more people than any other.

The possibility is that Burns only wrote two of the five verses. But, as he did with numerous other Scottish songs, he modified them and, in some cases, purified them.

It seems likely that the song was first sung either in Poosie Nancy's Tavern in Mauchline, or the Bachelors Club in Tarbolton located a few miles away.

The song was initially centred on two young men who drifted apart after their early schooling, and who, after re-uniting, reminisced about their earlier times together, the happy experiences they had together and the kindly folk they met.

When Burns became a Freemason at the age of 23 he quickly absorbed the superb symbolism of the Craft.

Conviviality was, for Burns, one of the most important virtues. For him, Auld Lang Syne is a concrete expression of his love of mankind and his ideal of International Brotherhood.

The Masonic routine is to from a circle in which everyone is equidistant from the centre, demonstrating they are all equal. In this regard, the practice adopted in some lodges by placing the masters or other distinguished brethren in the centre defeats the purpose of the ceremony associated with the song.

At the beginning of the song the brethren stand with hands by their sides, symbolising they are relative strangers.

The early verses should be sung (or hummed) very softly as brethren reflect both on cherished memories of earlier times together and on those brethren who have since passed to the Grand Lodge Above.

When they come to the last verse, "And there's a hand, my trusty frier (friend)...", each brother then extends his right hand of fellowship to the brother on his left, then the left hand to the brother on his right.

This symbolises two things: firstly, that they are crossing their hearts; secondly, that they automatically form a smaller and more intimate circle of friendship. Now they have an unbroken chain of brethren who are close friends.

The tempo should then rise and, to the tapping of feet, all enthusiastically sing the final chorus.

At non-Masonic functions the foregoing routine should be followed as far as is practicable. If necessary, small circles can be fommed around tables.

At Scottish functions they usually wind up by singing "O we're no' awa' tae bide awa'," form a "snake" and move round the hall in increasingly smaller circles. Then the leader reverses the movement and all participants revert to a large circle.

The preceding is excerpted from an article that appeared in the Autumn, 1995 issue of the VICTORIAN FREEMASON, written by T. G. Patterson. It was reprinted as a Short Talk Bulletin in the Pietre-Stones Review of Freemasonry by Brother Bruno Gazzo

R. W. Bro. Patterson, the founder of Victoria's Rhetoric Lodge of Communication #831, is a noted authority on Robert Burns. He was born in Mauchline, Ayrshire, where "Auld Lang Syne" had its genesis.

Walt sincerely good luck to you!!! Even though, I have been bumping heads with you lately I do not really think you are anymore Racist than the rest of the Human Race. From the time people are born they begin to pre-judge
and this is just part of life.

Due to how we grow and what we are exposed too during that time has profound effects on us all later in life. Please take it easy, and never stop standing up for what you believe, but also remember sometimes it is also good to reevaluate your beliefs, especially when everyone around you thinks you are wrong.

Take it easy Walt and have a good night

What a shame... I must admit it wasn't till after your little vacation that I cared for any of your posts. Amazing all the personalties that can come and go around here.

First off, thanks for leaving me off your 13th grade high school clique list of AZ posters.

Make sure to log on as Malcolm X as well, and have him say goodbye to us as well, because, at this point, I don't know who to believe.
