Farewell everyone.

I just struck out but I went down swinging. To all the players trying to improve your game, good luck. Ask questions, take the advice from those that are qualified to give it and practice, practice, practice.

To the players in the I.P.T., good luck. I'll see some of you out there at a tournament some day.

Peace to everyone, John Morton.
I see you did get the chop for 6 months buddy.:(

Cheers for the good wishes and hope to bump into you sometime during my travels.

i don't know about what goes on with these issues....they're long, drawn out, and i have a short attention span. but in regard to your quote about a level playing field.....there is no such thing in life, there is certainly no such thing here at azb,,,so if that was one reason why rude dog was banned(to preserve a false concept), then it's nonsense. rudedog has certainly earned enough brownie points.

He sure did. He was given more chances to act civil than anyone ever.

He got a 6 month ban, his second ban....( who's ever got a second temporary ban????) when he should have been banned permanently.

Yep. Plenty of brownie points.

Ive been a forum whore for years now and never fully understood the "goodbye threads".
9 times out of 10 the poster returns shortly after anyways. If you are leaving, leave, no need to announce it.
I know I'm a "New Guy" here and will more then likely get flamed for saying this. This isn't directly aimed at Rude Dog as much as it is the numerous "so long" posts from various other forums throughout my posting/lurking history.
Some people just ain't happy unless they have something to complain about.

That' it, Sore. I've had it; I'm out of here.. ( Donate some money to
me & I'll stay.)

If it's not directed at Rude Dog, why post it in his thread? If it's directed at the other ones, why not post it in one of those threads ?

In this case, RD was banned and said goodbye. He wasn't saying "hey, that's it I'm outta here. you guys suck." In my opinion, your generalization does not apply to this specific situation.

RD - I'll miss your posts and I look forward to your return.

Cheers,
RC

Watch out Miss Cleo!

Not sure what part of your post you think you were psychic about. Can you explain?

1) Rude dog isn't back as you predicted he would be
2) You didn't get flamed as you predicted you would be
3) I don't see anybody here complaining just to complain as you predicted they would.

Other than those three, I didn't see any other things I would classify as predictions.

Maybe I missed something :)

The above can't be aimed at RD, it does not apply. RD got escorted out of the site, and was allowed to post his own farewell (hopefully for 6 months only, please come back then RD). His last post (sniff) may have been supervised, I noticed there was no For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge to be seen ;)

It's a pretty sad day for everyone in AZ land, I certainly enjoyed John's posts as much if not more than any other poster in the history of AZ. Although I never met him you could tell by his posts that he was a nice person with a sense of humour that was unmatched by anybody.

We'll miss ya John!

Ever since moving the forums to their new home, we have had problems with them taking forever to send an email. When a post is reported, the forums try to send am email to Dave and me. That takes forever so the screen sits there for quite some time trying to send the email.

However, Rude Dog has been asking on and off for many months to be banned from the forums. He has logged in under aliases and admitted that he was simply trying to stir up $#it.

I have met John a couple times when he came down to Phoenix to play in events on my tour and he is a very nice guy. But he has finally gotten his wish.

Mike

I go out of town for the wkend and come home to a mailbox full of emails… I’m only posting this because I think it’s fair that everyone here knows that John didn’t do as he was accused of doing (on purpose) and point out how easy it is to make a mistake…

Rude Dog said:
I personally reported this post to you over and over and over, 8 times? Are you out of your mind? Are you saying that I personally sent you a pm about this thread 8 damn times? I don't even know how to report a post, let alone 8 times. Enlighten me Dave, tell me what I did, what I said, and who I sent it to. When you do that, show everyone in the forum what I said about this thread 8 times, then I'll be back to do some painting.

FWIW, here’s an excerpt of an email that Rude Dog sent to a few of his friends shortly after this post…

"I gave Cuetechasaurus bad rep points, cuz he ges off on them, for his post about the guy that contradicted himself. Would that go in as a bad report of the post? Anyway, when I clicked on the ok button or whatever it is, nothing happened, so I clicked again and again, nothing happened. So then I just hit the Back button and forgot about it. Could that be what Wilson is talking about? If so, he's still a ******* ***** because he's trying to make me look like a snitch, and we all know how I feel about snitches."

Mr. Wilson said:
I'll only bother with this. There are two buttons....one says "report bad post", the other says "add to user's rep".

Here’s a screen shot of what it looks like on my screen…. Not as cut & dry as you say it is and as many have already said… a lot of us have mistakenly hit the wrong button. Rep could easily be mistaken by someone as meaning “report” while bad could be mistaken as just giving bad rep. I’ve often thought of this when I would go to leave someone rep points. At my job I have to click on a button that says "close" numerous times a day in a particular program. Right next to it is a button that says "copy". I can think of 5 times in the last 3 months that I've accidentally hit "copy" instead of "close".

I have seen a great deal of knowledge lost from pro and semi pro players who have bailed because a select few enjoy attacking these people. Some are thin skinned, some don't understand that this is going to happen on a MB. And often.

Either way, we don't need trouble makes, or worse, people who don't want to listen to the mods.

I for one am glad we have someone to protect the recourses that we have here. Other messages boards didn't, and I have experienced for myself the level of quality diminish. Most of the posters wound up here.

Thanks for the moderates and their thankless work.

Without it, this place would stink.

Look at this screen shot and get your paint brush out. ? you, ? Mike, ? Smorg, and ? all you cry babies that whine about every little thing in this forum.
How many strikes is that worth? Not enough? Well I've got plenty of swings left. Now, run along and hit the ban button, put me out of my misery. I'm tired of tip-toeing around this damn place anyway

I think you should be banned for this

The "Report Bad Post" button definitely needs some performance tuning. After you press the "Send Report" button, it does take a few minutes to send the message. So it is very likely that someone who is trying to send a bad post message will think that an error was made and press the Back button and Send Report button more than once in trying to send their message to the moderators.

If this software bug could be brought to the attention of the AZB data base analyst or software developer, they should be able to isolate the problem fairly quickly and get it fixed.

reporting posts...

i will say that this is the longest post that i have ever read, including the fact that i sat and read the "who deleted my posts?"

i never understood fully what the rep points were and reporting bad posts... however now that i do, i would like to know whatever happened the post that i reported.... to my knowledge nothing was ever done to this person and i just felt slighted but moved on... so all of this talk about cutting down and enforcing rules seems silly if it is only chosen to be inflicted on select users.... the person i reported seems to be fairly popular on this board and continues to harass people... thankfully i never emptied my inbox, but it wasn't necessary since he/she publically bashed me in one of my posts....

i agree that the moderators shouldn't have to babysit this forum however either fix everything or nothing, because it seems as though you pick and chose right now and I believe that is the root of your problems.... this is just my opinion...

i frequent this forum alot as well and am also new to this forum, however i do have some opinions towards it and feel that this is a negative reflection and portrayal for new people to see.... thanks!

mr. wilson, if you could possibly shed some light on my reporting of a "bad" post, please respond to me in pm, now that I know there is something you can do about it, I would like to know what action was taken if any, and if any can be taken now... i feel very strongly about this and would like something done, thanks in advance for your cooperation.
