Excellent, excellent description of what it takes to make money counting. I was never even 1/10th the counter you are but I understand the math. Here's a question for you: You make the point that casinos want you to think you have a chance. We all know counting is useless when the house is using automatic card shufflers. Are the casinos avoiding installing these things across the board because it will kill some of their "card counter" (aka sucker) action?

I heard the same thing once about a guy that came thru Missouri. He beat a friend of mine out of a lot of money in his shop flipping coins. He would do the same - throw it against a wall. The last 3 flips, he let my buddy's daughter call it for him and still won.
 
I just want to take a shot in the dark and say that all this discussion about a coin flip gaf bet means nothing as I am sure Fatboy intended to truly find a 50/50 way of betting with Bucktooth and was not trying to steal his money using a gaf coin flip.

I also don't think it was Bucktooth thinking Fatboy intened to cheat him that made him leave.

As I see it these two have a mutual respect for eachother but also a rivalry, it seems everyone else turns it into something bigger. I hope we all remember that we are pool players at heart and rather than Coin Flips or Keno Board games why not pick a player each and have them play while you bet.

TAR would be a great place, there is already great drama around this story, I think it would be great!

thats a topic that opens up a huge discussion, pm me your email, I want to email you something(too much foul language for here), in a nut shell from what I have seen the players dont notice or care as much anymore, but i dont got to jointrs like that cause I have ZERO action there, I haven played a hand odf 21 in vegas in 18 months, i cant remember when, I know it was at the 4 queens and I got booted in a bad way, i thought I was gona get arrested(I won $700) how sad is that?

the reason i say its a huge discussion is the casinos in the past did want you to feel you had a edge, and it worked, then they got greedy and now they arent doing good, so did the players get smart or the casinos get greedy???? chicken or the egg? see what I mean? Vegas is in deep chit real deep, alot worse than the recession, email me. anyone with a avitar like your I have time for :smile:

I was on the con for years, I had no choice, now i'm a well schooled square. I studied gambling for many years-it was very interesting to me, also the psychology of gambling and profiling gamblers, their patterns, reasons, compulsions the whole thing has facinagted me for years, i'm a student of gambling, not a gambler(except in business). Tooth is a image gambler, so is Archie, I have a friend who is bigger than both of them put together. As for myself-It amuses me to play into their hand, but I will roll with tooth ay my house on my board!!!

i wasnt looking for a gaff bet, i would have had a random person, flip. Tooth could have picket the person, the person could have used their owwn coin and threw it of fthe roof for all I cared. I was makinf so much $$$ at the time I didnt care and wanted to see what Tooth was made of.

Remember I been arounf pool since 85 so I saw all the Tooth stuff over the years, so It was my dream someday to be able step up to the great on and post a bet, well that dream finally came true, the stepping up part anyways, it kinda fell apart from there, I was so disappointed I yelled out for anyone in the room to flip as I had my nose open.

At least I got to the point in life I could stand up to Tooth and not be on the bluff, that aint all bad. I have been blessed.

I aint stupid enough to get a mechnic involved for $50,000 and get shot over it, Geez do I really seem that dumb, that I would risk my own safty pulling a move for just $50,000???? Hell I just got robbed for 7 times that amount from a contractor, I can fade losses(not like before as I'm not making the same $$$) but honestly lose my reputation cheating, please....

Agreed, hopefully this can end everyones discussion of the coin flipping gaf since that was not the intenetion!

I don't know many of the posters here personally. I also don't know Fatboy or Bucktooth for that matter except through what I've seen, heard and read on TAR and here.

I spend a lot of time reading through the forums.

The biggest topic on here lately is this Fatboy vs. Bucktooth saga. I know nothing at all about Bucktooth so I can't comment on him but I do know that Fatboy has partnered with Jay Helfert to donate a pool table to the Boys and Girls club in Vegas and is adding $4000 to a tournament at the DCC which is drawing an amazing field of 16 players.

Why not support and push these two guys to do more stuff like that than to encourage them to bet large amounts of their own money for our amusment on coin flips or keno.

In the end it's their money and they choose how and when they want to use it. Anyone judging their decision should be willing to put up their own money instead.

I really like what they did for the Boys and Girls club and I would put my own money up to support that. I like the tournament they are having at the DCC so I put a player in it.

If they want to flip coins or play Keno well my money will stay in my pocket for that one, lol.

And those who were paying attention saw what you were made of too...

You were making so much $$$, and ready to flip for supposedly $50,000+, yet you couldn't, or wouldn't, get your feet wet playing Keno for a paltry $100/roll.

You brought $300,000 but wouldn't risk $100. That shows a lot of heart. :eek:

I must have missed the Fatboy vs. Fast Lenny matchup, but as far as I can tell, you won't get in the box, so everything else becomes a moot point.

You've had at least two legitimate offers to match up... one is from a near-sighted guy pushing 70 (Bucktooth), and the other is from a guy in a neck brace (Boy George).

What more are you waiting for... some crippled guy to come and offer you the 8?

Call up either of them, make a game and get the ball rolling.

I'm really getting tired of hearing about all the $$$ Bucktooth matched up for 40 years ago and the one recent time that he played Pooky.

Seriously, it is getting very tired. This is no disrespect to Bucktooth as I enjoyed watching him hustle one of my friends. I knew who he was and let it go on for a while to teach my friend a valuable lesson.

Cornfed please either have Bucktooth show us something new or quit singing up the same old tired tune.

Your above statement is totally incorrect if the dealer has a 10 or any other face card showing, which is what I believe you mean here.

If a dealer is showing a 10 or face there is a 61.8% chance that they have 17 or higher at present. There is only an 18.55% chance that the dealer will bust. In this situation you definitely hit as it is 81.45% likely the dealer will end with 17-21 and only a 30.74% chance that you will bust if you take one card. To further enhance the benefit of taking the card, you have a 7.17% chance of getting 21 and not pushing.

To sum it up:
If you stay you are giving the house 3.39:1 odds against dealer busting.
If you hit you are giving 2.25:1 odds that you will hit 17+
So essentially you are 50% better off to take a card at 12 with dealer showing 10 or face.

Sorry for the numbers, but I don't want someone reading that and not knowing the real odds.

No offense, but I feel the same way. We all know that flip wasn't gonna happen. If it did, so what? Again, no offense to either of you, but I couldn't give two shits either way. What the hell does all of that prove? You ever see me flip for more than anything cheap, slap me and tell me to match up better next time.
 
For the new year, I am going to try and develope my psychic abilities. I have been rather good at predicting some future events. I am going to try and read the future, if you guys don't mind.

I see that Cornfed will keep woofing and woofing. Somehow he probably thinks he looks cool, but really his posts are stupid and nobody really cares. People respond to his threads, but that doesn't mean we actually think you will actually gamble at anything. Next, I see a decent DCC at the new venue. The only thing I can't see clearly is wheather I will make it. If anyone needs a reading, I am reasonable, and it would help with my trip. I know this one may seem crazy, but I see Bucktooth and Fatboy not matching up at all. Bucktooth runs his mouth about this and that, but nothing comes of it. I know I am going out on a limb with some of my predictions, but I just don't see them matching up- I know it is shocking:eek: . How do you think I did?:smile:
