Eric's "Monster" Rosewood Barry Szamboti Cue..
I think it's Brazillian Rosewood? .. :embarrassed2:
Made this Cap Set out of Ivory 'cause Eric's other Barry Box Cues had Ivory Caps..

I added the Stich in the Shaft Side Caps..
Usually, the genuine Szams' don't have the Deco Ring in the Shaft Caps..
The Collars are the Standard size..
I usually make them with Thinner Collars on both sides (Like Biker2's Szam Shaft caps shown earlier this week).

Thanks Eric.. :)
Thanks for viewing...
Alton

Did somebody say MONSTER? That's right. Great work Alton.

This is the kind of cue that brings out the flaw in the current Cuezilla system. I'm certain it would not make monster status based on the current criteria and that's a shame IMO. Not trying to hijack the thread with the Cuezilla comments, but that was the first thing that came to my mind when it was being referred to as a monster.

Monster Cue... and caps worthy to adorn it!

wow this is a suprise, I never saw that pic of that cue.

I have a funny, well not ha ha funny but a story about this cue. but first how I got it. I fell into a collection of Barrys completely by accident. It was mon or tues morning and I was checking out the Gus inventory and realized I owned one Barry. So I contact barry via email and said "i sure would like to own a couple more of your cues, if you come across anyone selling any please let me know". On Thurdsay AM I got a email back with a phone number of someone selling a few of his "Barry's" for sale. So I called the seller, he had 13 of them i think, I said "cool-i will take all of them if the numbers work out right". He said he needed to be paid quickly. So I said "Ship them tio Barry today overnight, if Barry says they are good I will wire the $$ tomarrow morning so you will have the $$$ in about 18 hours" This was the fastest 6 figure cue deal ever, I called Barry at 7am my time and Barry said "Censored, censored, censored" So I knew I was good. I wired the $$$-ahh the good old day's, I miss them.

Now back to the rosewood box cue, At first I didnt like it much, there was 3 box cues in the collection, infact o the rose wood was my least favorite. And in the bottom 25% of all the cues., I just couldnt get into to it for some reason. Then about 6 months ago BANG!!! I really started liking it alot. I never had the intention of selling it, I have only traded one Barry cue out of my collection(should have kept it).

I was triple luckey to put together a great collection of barrys work in about 30 minutes of my time. The collection will not ever be broken up by me and I aint selling anything, when I get too old to pick up a cue then I will let the collection go.

thanks Alton for everything!!!!!:):):)

I dont agree with everything cuezilla says about cues either. This cue is a beauty no doubt, but monster? It's just not quite there for me, but I would love to own this cue none the less. Exquisite work.

I guess the use of the term "MONSTER", is more a "Figure of Speech" than "Status"... :)

Thanks all for posting...

Eric, What a cool story.. In a nut shell,
Eric > " What, I only got 1 Barry?!! I'd better buy 13 more!!! Now!!..:p"

Hey Eric,
Now I feel bad about the Barry..
The cue is yours, wire me the funds.
Barry can ship it to you:)
Best,

the cue I traded the Barry for is impossible to sell now(I did consider that at the time)-I just didnt think it would be 100% impossible to sell, hell I couldnt get $4,000 out of it, I wouldnt take that muchfor it but it was a bad deal. However I shouldnt complain considering what I paid for this box cue-if that number got out i'd piss of alot of my friends.

Those are some nice caps on one of my favourite boxcues, ever. Very nice work Alton and congrats Fatboy for the acquisiton :)

I've never been a box cue fan, but this cue might change my mind......It's a great cue.
