That's it? Fatboy's is going to be better, because he is Fatboy. Maybe if I suck up to him enough, I can sweep the floors or throw out the garbage to be able to hang out at his poolroom, building, house, wedding place thing he is building.
Just because I like you Doug, I will show up, but with my luck, I will still end up losing somehow.

Eric...I remember well, when you showed me the room, and the plans you had for it, the first time I came to your house. That was 15 months ago, and I thought to myself, "Wow, this will really be something great!" Glad to hear it's finally happening the way you wanted it, and I look forward to helping it work any way I can! I think I'm going to be in Vegas around Valentine's Day, and I hope you're in town, so I can come visit! Happy Holidays!

I'm going to do great things there for pool, since its my house I just will expect people to be respectful to the property. I would say its 90 days from being done and by end of summer we will be doing something pretty big, we will be doing action changlles sooner than that, I want to start small and grow into being the #1 spot for pool in America, it wont be the biggest venue like the Derby, but it will be a presigeous place to win a annual event at like the US Open is. I'm not competing with anyone, i'm just going to be the new guy and pool needs that. I will have the support of the pro's and they and all other pool players will too, mooches and takers need no apply.

I'm a self admitted REP whore, The purpose of this post has nothing to do with REP, I have put my heart and soul into this project and I'm excited about it about 15-20 people from AZ have seen it and I wanted to share the good news. I got robbed for $350,000 cash on it 10 weeks ago around the US Open time, its been tough and now there is a bit of good news. I dont ask for REP either under my name(I dont need to), It comes from my friends and believe me this thread is something I'm proud of-it wasnt a joke or a REP whore move. Your my friend and I only wish you the best. Thats how I roll.:)

no but i do have my wedding business name!!!
I will announce it next week, we had a monster thread about it, I finally got it, PHEW that was a long thread and alot of help.



the room will only be a "Room" when there is a event otherwise its going to be like any multi purpose room, wedding parties, conferences, etc. I'm working a deal with Diamond for tables both 7' and 9' ones. I might do just a 7' event like Dan Tull just did at Shooters in KC that was cool. Or something like it. I'm not going to compete with anyone and do a event on the same date as someone else(that seems to happen in the South and LA) it makes no sence everyone loses players, promoters, rooms. its terrible.


I/we are going to come up with unique things that will make some players $$$-you know the guys/girls that win:smile: , and cost other players-the ones who dont win:frown: -but thats pool. What is going to happen is new events and ideas, the one's that work will become annual and the ones that suck....well we tried and wont make the same mistakes twice. Because its not a pool room I dont have the pressure of having to maintain a business while I run a event and because were not in a hotel paying a zillion $$$ a day on a triple tight time schedual we can be flexiable-more flexable than anything currently going on, cause its just a piece of property I own that will be built for this and other purposes.

There will be food, nothig fancy but it will be there and there are fast fod and regular resteraunts close, and Dimano's delivers. I dont are if people bring food it, hell if they are hungery then eat, see no stupid rules like (NO OUITSIDE FOOD) /i'm not a greedy biz owner, my $$$ will be made there with weddings so I can have cool rulz for players. but it will be a privlage to be there not a right, if someone acts up they are gone, there loss not mine, I hope that dosent happen. It wont much. Oh yeah BYOB, but no drunks-that I have no tollerance for. Buzzed is cool, drunks-bye bye. it will work out fine-because the smart people will keep things in line, its self policing. I will have help with that, I will get Big Bull from AZ to kick ass for me :thumbup: Lots to think of....

This venue will be the nutz.. I've seen the space.... I kinda figured the wedding tables would be switched with pool tables eventually..

This is outstanding and the pool world needs people like you and I hope to see it soon after it's finished. I've got some Delta frequent flyer miles I need to use and this is the perfect reason to use them.

Great idea. Can i get dibs to be the one who cleans the tables, rooms, and takes out the trash. Just give me free table time, and let me play the role of "Wedding Crasher" as well. Tell "Big Bull" i will armwrestle him for this job, as i know he will want it too. lol

In all seriousness, this is a great idea. I would love to travel to Vegas more than once a year for a big pool tourney. Good luck!

Thank you FatBoy for doing this for the pro pool players and their fans. I was the first to say that you were going to be the one that did big things for pool and it's fans. Also I've said all along that one building owed by someone to hold tournaments and action challenges could work. For the most part I got flamed. Another thing you said in the first part of the thread was that the winners (top pros) would be the big winners as it should be?you get it. No one can see that anyone calling themselves pros makes a living, that is up to them to get in the top percentage by hard work (practice).

As far as having the building on your property goes, you've taken a page from the Mom & Pop stores of years ago where the owners lived upstairs or in the back of the store. But you took it a few steps further and there will be no WalMart to come in and knock you out of business. Having several of your businesses use it to supplement the pool is super smart. Another thing you do is surround yourself with guys like Jay, Mark, and some top players that you saw wanted to help themselves?not the ones that believe someone owes them a free ride. After you plant the seeds I only hope that everybody in the industry, (fans, players, and anybody in the sales part of the billiard industry, room owners, stake horses) supports this to help it grow into something bigger than the COM and The Hustler were for pool.

I applaud you Eric. You always do what you say you're going to do?and back it with your own money. Thanks again from all the players and fans. And I might add Eric has done a lot for the game already. Most of it under the radar, some of it a lot of us know about. If he thought he couldn't give the game a big boost he wouldn't have wasted his time and money on whipping a dead horse. Johnnyt
