That would depend on the wielder, and how much of a wind-up he/she took, no? I mean, an overhead swat on the top of your head, and a baseball-esque "upside the head" slam would feel different, wouldn't they?

Wes Hunter, can't beat it for quality and hit.
Jerry Franklin gets my vote. Classic 6 pointers are great, but those super awesome fancies he built are still the best cues out there to own as far as I'm concerned. I Wish I had a fancy Franklin SW, but I don't.
As said before, hard to pick just one, but JF is my favorite. Sorry DS, DPK, CP, GS, PM, GB, etc.

I think it is funny that some answer with almost an apology on who is their favorite cuemaker.
There isn't a wrong answer, or a popularity contest.
I have been lucky as I have played with 100's of cues and probably made by 100 different cuemakers.
Truly some surprised me how great they played, and some surprised me by how poorly they played.
The Omega/dpk cue I had, was one of the best looking cues I ever owned. I lusted over that cue like few others. It had full original shafts, and it was freakin beautiful. I couldn't make a ball with it. The shaft taper or something was completely different than anything I had ever played with before. I hated it as I loved the design and looks of the cue, but it wasn't for me....:angry: Hopefully the guy that got it loved it.

For me the favorite cue maker would imply one who is still making cues.
who provides exceptional customer service and does not
make me wait 10+ years to get his glued up
wood with automotive finish over it,
He also does what he says he will do and delivers his product when he says he
will deliver it (that alone knocks out a large number of cue makers)
My favorite cue maker would also be capable of putting an imaginative spin on a
traditional look that will hold up to the test of time, and not be one of those cues
you own 10 years later saying to yourself...what was I thinking.
He not only offers exceptional customer service, he is reasonably priced as in not
having to pay $5000.00 extra just because of the ego name
engraved in the Rambow ring (hoppe to those who don't know any better).
He actually listens to the tonal quality of the woods he chooses, and makes cues
that hit as good as anyone else considered the best.
Under this criteria, my vote presently goes to Josh Treadway
who provides exceptional customer service and does not

Too late, I really wanted a cue straight from Edwin Reyes. After his assassination, a lot of cues I would like to have, none I really long for. I'll be just as happy with one I whittle out myself.
