Fed Up with UPS
Please allow me to vent my frustration.... On November 30th 2006 i went to the local UPS store (privately owned franchise) to mail a cue over seas. (Europe)..This cue was not sold and no $$$$ changed hands. I was giving this cue as a gift...The cue was a lower end Joss That i got wholesale for under $200.00. Anyway, the UPS store employee told me that the price to ship it UPS with a tracking number would be somewhere around $90.00 or so. I said that that was just to much for me and he stated that he could send it USPS cheaper because they have regular mail boxes also and they do accept mail and parcels for the local post Office. He said it would be somewhere around $40.00 to go that route. So i filled out a customs slip and away it went. The clerk originally told me that i could track it with the customs number. That turned out to be false. Well guess what, it has now been over 2 months, and to my knowledge it still has not been delivered.
Now i feel like a jerk because i did not spend the extra 45.00 or so to have sent it straight UPS. The Store owner has no idea where it is. He keeps telling me that he is going to the local post office to see what he can find out. I told him that i have already spoken to them and their answer quite simply put is this...Since you dropped it at UPS, how do we know for sure that it was really sent by mail. Therefore they are and wil not be responsible for its loss.. The UPS store owner keeps saying that it will be delivered in the end so please be patient. He now tell me that for the money i spent it was shipped parcel post. The cheapest way possible. I told him if i had known that. I would have never shipped it that way and would have taken it to the Post Office myself.
So because of my stupidity or cheapness i guess i am going to lose all the way around. Unless i take the UPS store owner to small claims court and sue him.....Which under my current circumstances i simply do not have the time to do.
To the intended receiver, you know who you are and i am sorry that this whole mess is so screwed up. it is not your fault and i accept all of the responsibility. You my friend have done nothing wrong. Hopefully someday your postal service will knock on your door and deliver this nice cue to you.............thanks for letting me rant..I now feel a little better......mike:.......mad:
