Fedor Departs CueTec...?

Early on-line scuttlebutt has Viking in the pole position. I'd like to see a US made cue on tour.
I agree. One state has McDermott, Jacoby, Schon, Viking, Pechauer, Schmelke. And no top players representing. Although I am playing with a cuetec now I have a McDermott and a Pechauer and like the quality of both. One Schuler shaft by Jacoby that is good but I have never hit with a Jacoby. Viking for me has always been an “almost” and I have never owned one. Maybe it is the price point/design factor. Not sure. I see they have a new carbon fiber shaft. I have never hit one of their break or jump cues.

It has to be hard to be a locally manufactured high quality production cue in that the price point will be higher. I have never been interested in the branded imports from McDermott or Viking. In the custom/ production debate, small custom shops have to be good to match what McDermott and Pechauer can turn out from their big well equipped facilities.

As has also been discussed, some are losing interest in custom cues. I have, although I have only had a couple from custom makers. I am more interested in a functional bag of players. I want a playing cue with two shafts and an extension. I want a good jump cue and a break cue. I want a case to haul it. Sometimes it seems hard to find a manufacturer that has what you want in stock. That’s what I think they should do. I would strive to get a high quality playing package out there for 1000-1200. Maybe it has to be more. Just IMO. We’ll see what Viking does. I do think they can do really well signing Fedor.

The k is a very nice shaft but I’ll take an ExPro any day over one even if they were priced the same
You are free to do that, enjoy your ExPro but all the properties of both shafts that I care about (power, deflection, hit, lenght of the taper) point to the fact that P20-K is vastly superior shaft to ExPro in regards to my needs :)

whatever he moves to it will be a decision of heart, and because that cue is the best playing cue in the solar system
