Don't forget Shannon Daulton....
I personally liked him to beat any American in his day in one pocket. He’s a great example of a top cue striker competing regularly at one pocket.Don't forget Shannon Daulton....
I think Shane has to be in top 5. He’s more than capable of beating anyone in any game.No one is lining up to play Shane
The only way Shane would not be in the top 5 is if all the Asian players played one pocket daily for 3 months straight.I think Shane has to be in top 5. He’s more than capable of beating anyone in any game.
Here's another data point: if they're both sponsored by Cutec, how come no one told Fedor Cuetec doesn't want the match? I'm thinking Shane is ducking. Don't blame him.
I don't know that SVB has ever ducked anyone. For sure, he gets the matchup that he wants most, if not all, of the time or he won't play. Maybe that is a form of ducking? Rack rules, break rules, etc.Translation: "I'd rather not gamble with Fedor."
It used to seem that if SVB could hang around long enough in these long races, he would figure out the break and that break would eventually be too much for his opponent to overcome. While I would still take his 9 and 10 ball break over most anyone, I don't think it as big a factor as it used to be...especially not in MR events.Personally, I don't think Shane is the favorite to beat Fedor at anything in a long match on a nine-footer.
Father Time is undefeated. I am sure SVB knows it deep down, but most world class athletes have a certain amount of cockiness that keeps them hanging on.Maybe Shane had the stamina of a young man a few years ago, but this year's mismanaged Derby City 9-ball, sadly, came down to stamina, when both Shane and Fedor had to play through Saturday night and into Sunday morning. Fedor beat Shane easily in the final.

I have seen many posts from him over the years inviting anyone to come and he would" bet his own"

Also, SVB has his world title, from what I've heard/read he is financially secure, so maybe the gambling isn't as big of a deal...as the great Marvin Haglar once said, “It’s tough to get out of bed to do roadwork at 5 am when you’ve been sleeping in silk pajamas.”
Ain't no way I'm taking Kaci over Filler.
Gorst and Filler have barely begun to get their gamble on....To not have Shane on the list and maybe even #1 is questionable, IMHO.
I love that he called Shane out. He actually used the word "chicken"! Said Shane can pick his game. The kids got a pair. God bless him.Gorst and Filler have barely begun to get their gamble on....
SVB is ready to play almost anywhere anytime...if he likes it.
I do appreciate Fedor's recognition that he needs to get into action....really to get his opponent's best game so he can accurately judge his game.
I agree with Fedor that his playing Alex 1P for money is a bad bet. In a year it can be just the opposite.
If they play 1P....Fedor isn't a favoriteI love that he called Shane out. He actually used the word "chicken"! Said Shane can pick his game. The kids got a pair. God bless him.
It's a Shame, because it's the titan clash everyone wants to see so we know who the king of the hill is. Seems Fedor has that mentality. If they play 1P....Fedor isn't a favorite
9 ball he might be...in winner break, Shane can take over long raves.
10 ball might be closer.
Kills me when these guys don’t match up to determine where they stand. When they do, they both risk losing status....which is silly if they are only betting backer money.
I tried my best to get a few big matches at my room. Made it as easy as possible.....and I never hosted a long race.
We may never see a meaningful long race with
Fedor vs Shane or Fedor vs Filler or anyone else
....because when he wins it means he's the better player.

Agreed. To me this sounds like just plain oul good woofin'....
Personally, I don't care if any of them they ever gamble. They all have ample opportunity to show their greatness on the tournament trail and every one of them is found in the field of every major. SVB's win at the 2022 World Championship was his only major in the last seven years. By comparison, Filler has won the China Open, the UK Open, the US Open, the World Championship and the gold medal at the World Games in that same period. If they play 1P....Fedor isn't a favorite

Shane's, still one of the truly elite, is not the best anymore, and he knows it. In my opinion, Fedor would demolish him at one pocket in any long race. Two-time World 10-ball champ Kaci would easily beat him at 10-ball, and Filler would school him in a long 9ball race.
Luckily for Shane, he is smart enough to steer clear of today's best in action. Greatness is measured in titles, and the title count in recent years tells us what we already know about Shane. He's not prevailing over the toughest fields very often anymore.
Well, then, Jack Cooney is our greatest ever pool player. Many have scored over and over in the action room, often exceeding the earnings of the best pros, but it is those that mix it up with all the great players at once and beat them over and over that are remembered. In our sport, greatness is not always determined by the tournament chart but often in the after-hours pit.
