139 Humans discriminate against lesser skilled humans in just about every walk of life
144 geez, at least the woman pool players play on 9 foot tables, NOT five foot tables
145 the OP was saying that the ladies don't have the hand eye coordination like the guys
149 Annie Oakley could cut it in a man's world
150 but when a game stays out of touch and does not "change" it doesn't grow too much
152 there will never be as many women as men in fields of brutal competition because that's just the way it is
153 Thanks. Humor is my bag.
154 Modern women want to do it all
155 And in a 1000 years people might think it was silly that there was ever a time in human history when a woman's brain was thought to be inferior to a man's in any aspect.
157 The jobs of men are always more brutal than those of women, and more risky
158 Just admit it and I'm out of here. In fact, I think I'm out of here anyway.
160 This is like watching Fox News and MSNBC
161 I come from a warrior tribe (as does my wife)...and I have daughters...if I fall in battle, they'll have to take up the sword and continue for me...and I ain't the least bit worried....
164 we've all seen female players in open tournaments that only play against men that seem to have a more muscular way of playing.
165 Up until the computer age, the development of human history has been driven forward by the genius of men from every conceivable field. Perhaps you can point me in the direction of Mrs Socrates, Ms Einstein, Ms Beethoven, Miss Newton?
167 You really have a broken google don't you?
168 in the pool world, it's every MAN for himself
136 I feel simply that women are not as creative as men. I'm talking about across the board.
137 I get the feeling that some women feel about men the same as many large retail stores feel about Walmart
122 Now girls can spot guys the 7ball when it comes maturity and priorities and stuff like that..
124 women have fully bypassed men today in academic pursuits.
127 I think there are just less women interested in hitting rocks with sticks than men
139 But her brain doesn't interpret the images and pass orders along to the muscles in the same way.

You have too much time Bill. :-)

Let's just face the facts. Women have no respect in the pool world. Nothing has changed.

i respect female players. well let me be clear. i respect female players that take their games seriously. i saw a chick playing by herself doing some drills with an intense look on her face. i asked her to play, not so i could say "let me show you how to do it sweetie", i just wanted someone to play. she said no she was working on some stuff. she got mad respect!!!!!

Jenny;

I don't think that's true at all.

I, and I'm sure many others, have tons of respect for Jasmin, Ga Young, Allison, Karen, Monica, Kelly, etc., etc., all of whom would rather easily kick my ass on the blue felt.

Added to them are many, many, female amateur players who I know personally and for whom I have great respect.

As for why there are so many scantily clad women avatars on this site, that's easy:

Pool is primarily a male sport - and so the % of male membership here on az is way lopsided compared to females.

It's inevitable that when you have such a large population of testosterone-headed guys gathering in one place with permission to post a picture of their choosing by their name, well, it's gonna be sports cars, bikes, dream cues, and yes, big-boobed women.

I think this is just a case of guys being guys. I don't think it's anyone being overtly disrespectful. I do think, however, that it's inconsiderate of the minority female members.

Who am I to point fingers though, I've been running with the big cock avatar for six years.

best,
brian kc

I can see your viewpoint and I believe you do feel this way, but some -- not all -- male members on this forum speak to the female members as if they are beneath them, trash, to include calling them vulgar names. It is as if the females cannot voice any opinion, and when they do, it's called "hijacking threads," "playing the victim," et cetera. In my own case, when all else fails, they go after Keith and start ripping him apart in words.

When a female voices their discontent on AzBilliards, a band of men come forth to trash her. It's not just me. I've seen it on other threads with other lady members of this forum who express their opinions.

This forum is, in a way, representative of the reason why it's a male-oriented sport. It took women many years to get the vote, but when it comes to pool, women will never be treated equally. They are, indeed, discriminated against from doing the very same things their male counterparts do in the pool room. How dare she be good!

I have not posted once this morning in the thread about Corey and Hennessee that I've been accused of derailing, but check out how many of the people who accused me of hijacking that thread have posted this morning in the thread. The very ones who accused me of it are still at it, doing *exactly* what they accused me of. I rest my case.

People of all genders who don't deserve respect don't get it. And it's not just in the pool world, it's the world world.

Take whiners for instance...........

I replied to a post that quoted mine. Now you're trying to hijack this thread by creating anger and or hurt. Of course, I will be blamed for it. Not you.

Damn......I NEVER make anybody's list :sorry:!!!

Maniac (still contributing to the "other" thread, so there's still hope )

Thanks for exhibiting my point. Much appreciated! :)

If you didn't care for that little Asian hottie in the avatar I can only imagine your reaction to the "women get no respect" video clip I am now reminded of. Can't post it here though cuz it really is porn.

I would be fully for an avatar submital where you need to have it be approved before being used, as well as guidlines for what can be used. I don't think anyone here would argue that having sexy women/men as avatars is needed for full enjoyment of the site.

Many friends have written to me on Facebook and say they never post on AzBilliards anymore. I am fairly new to Facebook. I'm just learning how to navigate and get around. It is nice to communicate there in a civil manner.

AzBilliards doesn't seem like a pool forum to me anymore. It has become a playground for some anonymous people.

There are still some here, however, on AzBilliards who are indeed passionate about pool, but they don't post as much as they did 10 years ago. A lot of them are now on Facebook.

I WAS laughin' my eyes off....then the thread count got in the teens....for all you agers out there :banghead:
