That might have been some of the best pool ever played....unreal. So glad i survived and stayed up to watch it.
 
And I'm glad they didn't play too fast early on (it's 10.20 AM here).
That Shane guy plays pretty good, however if he didn't have that 6 or 7-pack
then he probably would have finished the night with the score reversed.

Probably. I think that it's telling that he was playing "bad" and yet the whole time never got more than five games down. Jay said it best, Shane's high gear is very high, maybe higher than Alex's, when it comes to the break working and just flat out getting out the right way.

Alex: Cueball on a string - plays shots from hell - can get safe or get out from anywhere.

This is a battle. And a lot of fun to watch.
 
Where are all the people that said there would be no 3 packs because of the tough pockets?

is it possible to upload even only a rack to see the location, how the table plays, etc... I can't watch the match because of the time zone...

Yeah I am in China and it didn't stop me either. But for some people it happens when they are at work and have no access.

Same as any other live event. Sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn't.

Also for TAR - this stream is FLAWLESS for me. Now I don't give a shit what anyone else says and I certainly feel that a lot of the past PPVs the problem was probably on my end - BUT I think that you being in complete control over your internet access is a HUGE help to how smooth the stream gets to the viewer. I honestly had no problems, was like watching TV. From China, no VPN, rocks BALLS!!!

It's a great game that I am going to miss due to timezone sadly, yesterday I bought the stream and even with drinking coffee it didn't help me stay up,I only was able to watch the first 10mins but thats it. I was falling asleep on my keyboard after 10mins from the start.

the play starts at 3:00AM in my country time, and its hard for me to watch it live sadly, I love watching LIVE matches more then DVD, but ill have to buy the DVD later on.

WATCHING the balls go right in from every anlge, because the pockets are not spitting the balls out...like a newborn baby full of momma's milk...then burping...ALL OVER THE PLACE:grin::cool:

What are the specs on the table?

I'm coming into this quite late and did not watch the stream last night.

I thought that the match was going to be played at TAR's new room in Vegas... and if so, don't they have a 9' Diamond Pro Am in that room?

Is is not a standard 9' Diamond Pro Am with 4.5" corner Pro Cut pockets?

If not, pls describe how the table has been modified.

It is being played at the TAR studio. The have a 9 ft diamond, but Justin borrowed the rails from Fatboy's table. RKC modified those rails when the table was still at Eric's house and now the pockets are 4 1/8". Table is playing really good.

Definitely worth buying the stream tonight.

That thread details the table, with pics. Yes, it is their Diamond table, but with Fatboys rails, to make the pockets tighter.

I've said it too but people tend to ignore it. On a diamond with those deep shelves I actually like these tighter pockets better than standard cut pockets because a well struck ball tends to fall in easier than on a standard diamond.

I think with a good facing angle and 4.25 inch corner pockets and equivalent side pockets, that that would be ideal on a diamond.

My next thing is to get to one of the new diamonds with the new rails to see how they bank.

If they bank like they should, I may have to consider getting one.

My Diamond has older rails but the one at my pool room has the newer rails. Lets just say that I now find myself going long on multi rail shape and banks because I am so used to the older rails.
 
Anyone who missed Shanes seven pack last night can catch it today before the match starts. It will be running on a loop starting at 4 PM Eastern. The LIVE Pre-Show begins at 6:30 PM Eastern and the match starts at 7 PM Eastern.

That is so cool. I had to go play in a tournament and watched myself play horrible while thinking about the match. I had brought the laptop to the pool room and set it up so that the people there could watch with me.

And then I had to go play a match and missed the seven pack.

Just a suggestion - it might be cool to have an infobox on screen somewhere with the stakes for people who don't know what's going on. I had to explain the game five or six times for each new person who wandered over. You know like for all you already do it would be great if you could take care of my local needs here as well...... :-)
