Finnegan is a crook and a scumbag.

As I explained earlier, if they tried to announce a long rule set over the mic, nobody would listen. The way I've seen it done at Steinway, most players pass on the raffle tickets, and a random local patron usually ends up winning the draw. When that happens, the shooters still know that if they get picked to shoot....they stand to win money. That made the whole event exciting for everybody. Theres absolutely no way in hell that Finn would risk his reputation by attempting to create "an arrangement" with every player in the house. He went over the rules with Ralph on the side, why is that so strange? He sees Ralph every day, hes the guy to worry about pissing off, not the raffle winner.

Kid, I have known you to be a reasonable poster for a long time, and I respect your opinion. It's possible that the op at one time, saw 10 balls racked for the break and run. Possible, but that would only happen for a B+ player or lower ranked player. The ticket winner chose an open player to shoot, who had to deal with having to make a money ball to continue, plus deal with 5 extra blocking balls. Had he asked the rules, he would have known this. He admits he's new, so how would he know? Makes sense to me that different rules should apply to different speed players. The grand prize pot isn't supposed to be there as easy pickens. I can't say the guy was celebrating his anniversary a little too hard, but I will tell you this: Manny makes some pretty strong drinks.

I didn't ask Finn this, but I would be willing to bet that if he called Ralph to the side it was in order to verify the rules with him. If anything, Finn made the mistake of figuring that Ralph would explain the rules to the guy if he had to. Instead of that happening, the guy stormed off and whined about it a year after the fact.

And after TWENTY-FIVE pages, we finally arrive at the crux of the matter!

Different rules for different skill leveled players.

2) a cheat for having different rules for different players.

And those can be Nuts4Tascarellas OPINIONS until the day he dies.

Every mans entitled to an opinion.

well whoever buys that is a true imbecile. I suppose the TD of an ABCD tournament where A's got to 9, B's to 7, C's to 5 etc is a cheat too.

Sure everyone can have an opinion but if your opinion is that Texas is smaller than Rhode Island, you're an imbecile.

Steinway has enough monster players hanging around that it makes complete sense they would take measures to make it harder to take down a B&R pot.

The way Cleary explained how they did that, by racking 15 balls and requiring the breaker make at least one ball numbered 1-10 in order to keep shooting, this also makes complete sense.

The texts posted of Raphael's take on this also makes sense and point's toward no monkey business.

I don't think the op made his case and I do believe it was in very poor taste to come on az a year after this was supposed to have happened calling Finnegan "a crook and a scumbag".

An apology to Finnegan is in order.

imo

Bs

This is all over $180 for the one ball made!

And

Principle!

9 members each shoot him 20 via Paypal and case closed :-D
Finnigan should ship the dough and apologize for the misunderstanding! No admission of guilt! Just good will!

But, the text messages indicate scorched earth diplomacy!

I think goodwill and diplomacy flew the coop with the thread title.

This embarrassing mob mentality

...is pathetic. This is what this thread has made me think of https://youtu.be/qLvGnro4Cgw?t=27
https://youtu.be/qLvGnro4Cgw?t=27 If the mob on this thread is looking for another BNR like this go to Crown in Pompton Plains,NJ. Same thing if a player over A+ speed does the BNR its a full rack and the last 5 balls don't count on the break otherwise there is a local that would take it every time it was over $500 or whenever he needed the free money.
Ppl put your damn torches away it's embarrassing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qc7jblpaPdM

I got warned today for name calling. So I guess the nicest way to put it is yes, if you read what I wrote and don't understand… yes, you're definitely missing something.

Stay in school, kid.

That makes cleary sense ....

Thinks you should go to school kid ....

If you're going to try to insult cleary's sense of understanding, you might not want to do it right after he wrote something clear and you failed to understand it -- apparently even after he suggested you read it again.

Why not explain the rules to the ticket winner?????

This is the second explanation! 1st was 15 balls racked and that was debunked.

Now, different rules for different level players!!!

Really????

KD

are you saying that you are comfortable with a D player being drawn and having to break and run a rack or 10 ball, or how about 15 balls and ball in had once during the run attempt taken at anytime, how about he get's to run the balls in any order. How do you like Shane getting that winning ticket? does he get 10 balls or 15. Just asking.

I am not a consumer of break and run!

Break and run pots locally to me have been part of your entry fee in the weekly event.

Buying extra tickets is reserved for players in the event! We did get some rail birds participating. They selected a player in the event who had tickets themselves!

Not bringing in svb as your ringer and svb did not play!

D players are d players and know their chances. They enter an open event and open means open. No hand holding here!

If you are not strong enough then stay away!

Point is responsibility!

Responsibility rest with the seller and director to ENSURE that everyone knows the rules!!!

Especially, a unfamiliar face from out of Town! Donating and having fun!

No one is saying op came to rob the event! No one! When good intentions are met with a bad outcome, you get good people not participating!

He could explain to Ralph but not say "thanks for buying tickets and oh by the way, these are our rules, do you still want in?" to the winner.

Ok, well since we are going to continue making up our own assumptions for what happened or how it should of went down here's mine.

Finn called Ralph to the side to tell him that he might have a match for him after the tourney if he wants or maybe that finn bet someone he's going to cash. Perhaps he called him to the side to give the guy the itch cream that he asked for
WHY THE F**K are people assuming that he called him to the side to cheat the OP
