Blackballed wins the 10 ball ring game! Good to meet/see everyone. Thanks to mike & Sarah for hosting the az get-together. Attendees were bb, Cory in dc, mike m., IBA..., & me.

MikeM, thanks for the PM, but sadly I didn't see it until 5 minutes ago. Anyway, it might be for the best; I haven't picked up a cue in 3 weeks, and probably would have mightily embarrassed myself.

Beetle's the one with the splitting headache right now after staying up way too late and drinking too many bloody mary's! I guess I'm getting too old to be getting back home at 1:30 on a worknight.
Good times. Also, a tip: don't go after IBA in a ring game! He doesn't run out every time, but he sure has a knack for tough leaves.

IBA strolled in around 8 and immediately lit up the room with his southern charm! This guy will bet on absolutely anything and calculate the right odds in about .2 seconds. Beetle showed up a little after and then Blackballed and Cory later on.
After we traded turns banging balls into rails for a while we got down to a serious ring ball game!!:wink: I got a bad case of the fleas and scratched all night. Beetle and iba ran out to an early lead before blackballed got into stroke and showed us how to play 10 ball.
Cory is right. He was really snake-bit being behind iba. Rarely had a shot.
Iba is nothing like I thought he was. I imagined a scrawny little bookwormy guy with a calculator and pocket protector. Couldn't have been further off. What he is though, is a stone cold killer. He couldn't miss all night. I took video of him running about a six pack of 10 ball but he made me destroy it! I don't think anyone can beat this guy in a rotation game!!! (was I not supposed to tell everyone that?:wink: I can't remember
)
But seriously, that was a real good time. Sorry guys if I seemed a little brain dead at times, I was exhausted last night.
Would love to do this again sometime soon. Let's not wait until another AZer comes in from out of town. It was great meeting some locals for the first time.

I'd love to do a longer ring game sometime. My house is always open and I'll provide all the drinks/food. But, I do live on the other side of the planet here in Montgomery Co., MD.

I had a great time. It was nice to meet all these guys from AZ. I don't know how many I had, but I know my hour and a half drive at six in the morning the next day was no fun. I actually went back to the poolroom since I couldn't remember whether I had paid my tab. I did. The owner could not have been nicer or more helpful.
I don't knock anybody's action, but no one played horribly ... except maybe CoreyinDC. I don't think I ever saw the guy make a ball:grin:. If any of you make it in to St Louis, I promise to return the hospitality. MikeM could not have been a better host. Thanks to everyone for a great time.
