I was talking to a guy that knows I like sneaky Pete style cues. He says I have the cue for you. He hands me a sneaky Pete and says Gus made that for me in 1976(I won't say what he told me he paid). He apparently had a few of them made by Gus and this is the last one he has left. He then shocked me even more when he said I will sell it to you if you want it.

I told him I would have to think about it and come up with an offer. His reply was the cue is going to my grave with me if you don't buy it. I'm curious what everyone thinks something like this is worth and has anyone bought or sold one recently.

Nice find. If it's real and you dont want it, ill take it and throw you a finders fee as well.

If it's an authentic Gus Szamboti, I'm sure you could easily get $3k for it.

If you had a couple Szam collectors in a bidding war, it wouldn't surprise me if it went for double that.

how come I got 37 views and 12 PM's but only one reply on the thread?

I looked out of curiosity. Have no idea what the value would be for such a rare cue. Would have to be authenticated, and then maybe 3-5K. The kicker is I think its a super rare cue.

how do you know its a gus.have you asked Barry,I will give $1500 and give it to Barry if it is original
Send it to him for authentication
If you are sure then my guess is $1500 is its worth, but most people will be skeptical without Barry authenticating it

I understand your point and yes I don't see anyone spending any real money on this cue without some authenticity. For the purpose of this thread let's just say it is real.

Also this is not an attempt to sell the cue it is to gather info for my friend and myself if we decide to make a deal.

I don't want to be a Doubting Thomas but that wood looks awfully white to be 34 years old.

I was thinking the cue looked somewhat recent also but didn't want
to say anything.

Same here. My question is how would you be able to authenticate it? Gus never signed his cues. Obviously you need to send it to Barry but I just don't see how you could tell.

You know how to tell if it is real. . . .

Offer him $500. . .

If it is real, he will surely be so insulted that you will either get punched or puked on!!! :rotflmao1:

2.5-3.5k IF IT CAN BE VERIFIED (I'M GUESSING IT CAN'T BE)

Marcus

P.S. DOESN'T LOOK ANYTHING LIKE THE OTHER 2 I'VE SEEN THAT I'M 95% SURE WERE DONE BY GUS FOR A GOOD CUSTOMER OF HIS.
