Freddy the beard has left us

RIP Freddy... my sincere condolences to his family. May Bank Pool live on with his memories.

Rest in peace, Freddy. The pool world loses yet another irreplaceable icon. We will all miss his colorful stories and insights into the game and its historical players. Heartfelt condolences to all his family and friends.

I am really saddened to pass the news that my good friend and our forums most respected person passed this morning. He died in his sleep last night..I believe from pneumonia. Freddie fell and broke his hip several days ago and was scheduled for surgery on I believe Monday. I'm guessing that his body was traumatized and was weakened because of it and pneumonia took control and caused his passing.

I spoke to Fred's son Dino after posting the above and he informed me that his dad died during a procedure..and a simple one at that. His heart stopped and they failed to bring him back. That's all I know, I will be in Chicago tomorrow and talk further with the family.

This is so sad and i'm fighting back tears as I write this, may god bless and take care of our friend.

R.I.P. my good friend I love you

Bank on, brother ... in the small world of pool, you were one of the guys that stood 10 feet tall - make sure to give Bugs and Grady a big hug for all of us. Rest in peace.

God bless The Beard.

Never met the man... I feel cheated somehow.

My condolences to his friends, family and the rest of humanity. By alll accounts, a stellar man.

no wonder we won League last night - some things simply pass on....

we will go hit some tonight, in His Honor.

.

Fred is a big name in my family.
Both my grandfathers were named Fred.
Had a brother Fred who is gone from the same cause.
Now it's another Fred that's gone that felt like family.

A while back, Fred posted "God bless you, pt."
Well now I'm saying it back....God bless you, Fred.

I just saw this...SOB...what a tragedy...God speed, Freddy. You will be sorely missed. I wish I had gotten a chance to make it back to Chicago to see you....I'm sorry I didn't. This is a loss for all of us....

So long to a friend. Freddie was one of a kind and we'll miss him so much in the world of pool.

I'm just glad that on what proved to be the last night I'd ever see him, he wore the biggest smile I ever saw him wear. The breathtaking performance of Sky Woodward in the Derby City banks ring-game took even Freddie's breath away, and he called it the greatest banking he'd ever seen.

The loss of guys like George Fels and Freddie the Beard in the last six months is a reminder that we need to celebrate the presence of our game's elder statesmen while they are still here with us.

Damn,,,,,,,!!!!!

How Awful,,,,,

I Always Loved Talking to Freddy and Hearing His Tales of ''Fat's'' and Eddie Taylor,,

Sadly,,,I Never Had the Honor of Meeting Him,,,

''Give 'em Hell Up in Heaven'' Freddy,,,,,!!!!
