Hey now you sound like my kind of guy! I think I like your philosophy! I'm going look for a place to hunt today, might get my hair cut after I take my morning walk.
That sounds way too busy for first day of retirement....

Congrats...!

Today was my last day at work, now I'm on vacation and taking overtime off until 11-1-14 when I am officially retired. It doesn't feel any different today but I imagine I will be able to get used to it.......Free at Last!
Whoo Hoo!
What ever you have plans to do, do it. You are a lot closer to the end then you are to the beginning and once we pass a certain age we age very quickly.Today was my last day at work, now I'm on vacation and taking overtime off until 11-1-14 when I am officially retired. In other words 20 years from the age of 30 to 50 may mean nothing.
That same 20 years when from 55 to 75 can be huge. I hate to be a downer but that is how life is and things can't be put off at a certain point.
I think the only reason I just wrote this post was because I just read this story like 10 minutes ago.

It hit close to home because the same think happened to my uncle after working at a job he hated for 35 years. He never collected the first retirement check before he any my aunt were killed in a car crash.
Congrats on making it across the finish line. Sounds like you made it in time to savor the victory. I know you've talked about a lot of ideas for giving pool the shot in the ass it needs. Best wishes for your well deserved retirement.![]()
