It's a whole different world when you know HOW to fall.
It's a good landing when you get right up and run after your board as if nothing had happened. A friend from the pool hall in the 1980s was one of the first skateboarders to be in commercials. Some of the shots in this video are probably on my street.

LOL, yep, I learned to crash a long time ago :)

That's cool about the skateboarder thing, I wasn't too much into those, I preferred BMX. Back in the early 80's I met some older guys (they were early 20's, I was 12'sh) from California on a local sledding hill in the winter, they were using converted surf boards as snowboards and let me try them. That was pretty cool, none of my friends even knew what it was when I told them, I didn't know until I saw them.

I’m not a skier, but this is pretty cool.

I miss skiing.

I was never as good as that guy but I do have a slight brag.
I used to be a guide for blind skiers. As part of being a guide, I learned to ski backwards. I could do most medium level slopes completely backward.
The hardest part for me was keeping the back of the skis from catching. They don't curve up like the fronts do.
I also used to switch from forward to backward skiing with ease. Every once in a while I'd see someone pointing at me while I was practicing the front to back to front twists.
