FYI Robotic Testing and "CORKED" Shafts

Great. Its not a gimmick but you will soon find that out. Then you might change your screen name to dumb poppa!

I see it too often on here where business owners or builders make a fool out of themselves on the very same place they sell.

You make a strong point. Hell I might even have to agree with you. You are asking me to act my age and be mature. You realize how hard that is? Professional cost a bit. Most pool players are broke, So they are forced to go out and get a real job. Then it's not long their not pool players any more.
This is a kick ass sport but way under paid. I wish I could invent something to change that. Then we could all make a decent living doing what we love.
That might even be better than the robot!!!

It's a shame I have to work today and not be able to sweat this thread

Same here, cause I bet it ain't gonna last longer than it takes Dave to have his first coffee of the morning.

John shows up every now and then to pound his chest like a little monkey and then poof, hes gone.

Me, I have to go to work to so I can save up for a $600 shaft and I hear thru the grapevine that they are going up in price too.

And all day at work, visions of shafts and sugar plums will dance in my head.

Barioni Cues:
The race car driver with the least amount of money in his car has a far better chance of coming in last place regardless of his driving skills.
Cues aren't race cars.

...You can spin the ball to measures never achieved before with out the cue ball squirting off.
This is false. No shaft can spin the cue ball "with out the cue ball squirting off".

If you're also implying your shafts spin the ball more than others (sounds like it), I'm pretty sure that's false too.

...sounds unbelievable.
We agree on this.

John, all you need is the late, great, billy mays to present these shafts on an infomercial. Maybe something like this:

HI IM BILLY MAYS HERE WITH MAGIC SHAFT!

It will make you a world champion in less than a week! Amaze your friends! Win money! Make more balls!

Now for only 3 easy payments of $200 you can be the best pool player you know!

Sounds good to me John.

Will you double our order of we call in the next 20 minutes?

This is like the 5th cue maker I've seen commit PR suicide on AZB. Its sad really. Good product or not, people wont buy if they don't like the seller.

I guess I don't understand how much better this equipment could be than other LD shafts. It seems like there would be a point of diminishing returns for LD shaft results vs price. I can't speak to the effectiveness of the Barioni product, but I have heard good things about Predator and OB shafts. At triple the price, I would be reluctant to try them even if independent testing showed they were better... the margin by which the shaft deflects less than a competing product would likely be negated by the imperfections that exist in everyone's individual stroke.
Opinion, respectfully given.

John

Your shaft might work great and it might not.

As a cue maker, you should really make an effort to line your rings up better. That's glaringly imprecise and makes people that buy decorated cues wonder about the rest of your precision that they can't see. Its really quite attention getting in a negative way.

Please don't offer to gamble with me at pool in an attempt to prove how precise your rings are.

Thanks

Kevin

Sounds like you have not invested much in this game! Therefore you have probably not won much in this game.

You can't honestly believe this. You mean to tell me that someone with a $300 cue couldn't possibly won much?

Last I checked SVB plays with a Cuetech.

You're delusional.

We have been offering for $200 Corking your existing shaft

So you are saying that I bring you my old wood Ginacue shaft made and tapered by Ernie Gutierrez over a 10 year period and hand it over to you and you charge me $200 to work on it? Can I ask you if its the same guy that lined up the rings on those cues of yours that is going to go boring into my Gina?

Thanks

Kevin

Where did you get the cue tester at Sir?

For those that may not know. That robotic cue tester looks a lot like the one Anne Mayes built. Anne was Annie O's or (AO) cues from Houston. She passed away and everything from her shop was stolen. I am not allegding anything. I'm just informing you that I will be looking into this matter very closely.

I'm going to search for the article or the photo I've seen of Anne and her machine.

Do you have a receipt for your so called robot?

More to follow...
