PS:I'm looking forward to seeing a lot of the WPA ladies in the open tournaments.
I hope the ladies get to play in the US Open by next year. I'd like to see some of them in action with the top men players. I think it will be very interesting.

In the beginning the PCN guy blogs:
"Rumor has it that el presidente has issued a gag order to the players, telling them that they are not allowed to talk to bloggers or post on the boards."
That means (in part) our beloved Sarah's, Robin's, Melissa's, et al can't even post on AZ Billiards! (I believe they are all WPBA members).
Anyway, like I said, that's preposterous and I'm skeptical at this point.
I wonder who the first WPBA pro to chime in and respond in this thread will be.![]()
I believe it's already happened.

I read the blog which Superstar (whoever that is) and this thread. I do not see and have not seen anywhere that substantiates this rumor.
Maybe some answers will come from the chatroom tonight for the Pro-AM. Johnnyt
I know John personally and have met with him a few times. He is a very smart guy who really cares about the ladies and the WPBA. He is trying to do things differently and put life back into a tour which is in a bit of a jam. I do not think we should be bad mouthing the guy, he is a new President and is going to make changes, some stuff will not be agreed upon and others will. Not even sure that this rumor is even true yet, we will see and I am sure John will not be bashful and will explain why he wants this if it is true.
I think as far as the media stuff goes I wish they would give ESPN the fu#%ing boot because that is a horrible deal for the tour IMO. John is an intelligent guy and a guy who knows business, not just a lover of pool or a player, this guy has all the tools to make the tour better then it ever has been. The tour needs a business guy going out there and getting sponsors and money because most pool players are not going to make it happen. Good luck John with what your doing, I know your heart is in the right place and your making personal sacrifices to make the tour successful.
So does that mean that despite his business prowess, that you would AGREE to a gag order to the players?
I wonder what would be considerate punishment for opening ones mouth, sanctions of some sort?
What did Jasmin get in trouble for when she played in that tournament?
2 or 3 tournaments?
2 or 3 tournaments seems to be the entire 2010 season.
If it is true, and sanctions have been dangled in front of the players faces, seems that missing an entire season is a pretty big threat for some.
I say we wait until John speaks on this which I am sure he will, you do not even know it is true so what your doing here is just a rumor and really in poor taste. It would be like me putting it out there that I heard that you did this or that without any facts to back it up but just rumor. Who told you this?, I am sure you wont tell us that so basically its just a rumor then.

That is why we are patiently waiting for someone to chime in. Either to dispute it or confirm it.
So at this time it is nothing but inuendo being propagated on this forum by you using your blog to back up said rumor. Why should anyone have to confirm or deny something with no weight behind it to begin with...that is nothing but espousing baseless tabloid mentality dirt to stir up dissention.

But going along with what you say, there have been many times where someone said something about the WPBA, and the girls immediately have come on, and voiced their opinions on it.
Why is that not happening here?
.
Good pooint. I made a comment a few weeks ago about the WPBA contract with ESPN and I think it was Melissa who very quickly told me I was wrong. (She never returned to the thread to explain how I was wrong, but that is neither here nor there)
You can't deny that it would appear from the limited tour schedule, that there is something wrong at the WPBA. If there is no communication from them, speculation is going to continue. It would be pretty simple for them to put an end to the speculation.
