Just curious but why does this have anything to do with you or anyone else not involved with the WPBA ?
The WPBA last I looked is not building concentration camps or hiding any other dastardly evil deeds. They hold a few pool tournaments each year. Three or four players make a middle class wage. It really is not that big of a deal one way or the other. Any one of these women could do or say whatever they like and not have it change their life by any large measure.
This is an assumption. You are presuming to know what pool means to everyone, and are not taking into account, "the dream" that some of the girls have, to one day be top ranked, or number one. For some people when they get caught up with pool, the dream is everything. To discount that, and make it strictly financial is IMO a bit naive, when we are talking about power structures and policies that might affect that dream or stifle those dreams altogether.
If your business partner told you to not publicly comment on something would you jump up scream in his face and quit just to prove you don't have to do as you are asked to do ? That attitude get's lots of things accomplished. Mainly a bunch of people standing around looking at each other with steely eyed glares in the unemployment line.
Your unbridled desire for conflict is a little weird.
Actually, it's quite simple.
I just reposted what some blogger had put up on their website and left it open for discussion, because i found it an interesting topic.
Considering that we have lots of WPBA posters that respond immediately to most WPBA threads, why not post it up in a discussion forum to see all the opinions on it and if it is valid or not.
That
is what discussion forums are for, right?
It peaked my interest. Plus the politics in pool have always annoyed me and i will ALWAYS take the side of player advocate. ALWAYS.
I know that if I were a public figure poolplayer, and I were to have the voice and platforms that i use every day, censored in any way, I would not like it.
Why should they. (Reflect on Sarah's post for some of the possible implications)
Plus, when you add all the speculation surrounding the new board and it's "lack of action" When you put those 2 tidbits together, you have what seems to be an interesting possibility as to said rumor, and more importantly, WHY said rumor might be happening.
I can't help it if i have a desire to know.
I don't think it's a actual desire for conflict. It's more a desire for answers.
Conflict just happens to be a by product when looking for those answers steps on toes, offends people and gets people's undies in a wad, when they don't happen to like the controversial topic at hand, for whatever reasons. And yes, i have a knack for discussing controversial topics. Conflict comes with the territory.
Just like, in this thread.
People vouching for J,R., and criticizing me.
People accusing me of things.
Not because i said anything negative about
them, but simply because i choose a certain topic they don't like, don't like how i am presenting things, and they happen to think they "know" the guy, or think i am someone else.
Once
that stuff starts happening, then admittedly, it becomes a little more personal and forget the initial questions and curiosity.
Then it's about making them eat their words.
Which in this particular case, they will have to.
