Like many of us in the this pool world I would to love to own and play with a couple of these cues.

1. Gus Szamboti
2. Southwest
3. Tim Scruggs
4. Skip Weston
5. Tad

Can anybody tell me a good playin cue for about $800.00 the budget is not here but the dream is...

You can get a low end Scruggs or a nice 4 pointer Skip Weston for 800 or a touch less. I've sold one of each in the last few months under you dollar cap......so they DO exist.

If you come across a Gus for 800....I'll give you 1600 for it. DOUBLE YOUR MONEY!! :)

you might have to adjust your list just a bit. Few of those you listed, you are not touching for 800.

You can get a fine Schon for less than that. They hit great.

I'll second that. I'd take a Schon (to play with) over any other cue on the planet...very high quality cue without the cost of a big name custom.

You'll find some SCRUGG's cues (used) within your budget. As long as the shafts are "stock" the plain janes play as good as the closet queens.:)

Pat Diveney could build you a fine basic cue to your specs in that range im'e sure. Give Pat a chance, you wont be dissapointed. Hard to go wrong with a schon as well. I have a Diveney, Scruggs,(the toughest to find in your budget), & a Schon. Love em' all. Good luck in your search.

Hanky

Jensen or Shurtz. Both have been making cues for a long time and both are undervalued.

If you find a gus for 800.....its not real :)

Buy a skip for around 800. But its plain. Shoots better than a production Schon. I can get you a new schon retail around $700 for around $450 or so.

PM me if you need a good price on a Schon.

skip

I just saw a skip for sale listed in the fourm. I think it was around 750. Can anybody help with the link?

If I had $800 and wanted one of the cues listed, I would keep saving money for another year and then have a better chance of getting one of the cues you listed with $1600 available. Keep checking the forsale forum here, ebay and other cue sites. In my eyes, it's better to wait and save for what you really want, then to settle for something that's not in your heart and soul. But, you may find something in the 800 range that never crossed your mind.
