Just out of sheer curiosity, have you ever done this? Is it even possible? I'm wondering if you can make a 7' Valley play like Diamond Smart Table (minus the fancy cue ball detection system).

Unless one is doing trick shots is there some significance to getting 9 rails (with ball hop added). Just asking.

I'm not questioning the new rails - anything new is obviously better then old/hard cushions.
Lotsa rails on trick shots is understandable but I can't think of an instance during regular game play
where one would need to go 9 rails (or even 7 rails) on any size table.
I suck at math, but I only count 8 rails. Just sayin'...
My local bar is getting three Valleys redone with Ridgeback rails as a direct result of this thread and others like it. Thanks!

Forgive my ignorance, but I might be interested in upgrading my 7' valley with the ridgeback rails also. However, I would want to preserve the original pocket specs or something that plays as closely as possible to that. I've read posts from Johhnyt that his newly installed ridgeback rails have pocket specs that are 4". Is that just a custom job? Thanks.
