ThinSlice, why don't you just shut the hell up and stay the hell away from my post. Your logic is bullshit, I didn't learn to be a damn pool table mechanic by coming on AZB to learn my job, try the other way around, I've been a pool table mechanic for the last 35 years, and already had my skill song before joining AZB. Now for someone to claim they've been a pool table mechanic for 15 years longer than I've been working on pool tables, and not know a damn thing about why balls are rejecting out of the pockets on a GC2....is sick. THEN people start throwing in their advice on how he can solve the problem, but have NO IDEA what THEY'RE talking about either. It sure makes me wonder why in the hell I've been wasting my time on AZB for the.last 12 years trying to educate people by giving them the RIGHT answers, the RIGHT way of doing things, yeah, I pisses me off, then to top it all off....I have you, banned and returned, telling me how I should or shouldn't act...so YOU can approve of me. Why don't you just be honest with the AZB members and tell everyone what your screen name was when you were banned. You have ZERO credibility with me buddy, so back off and stop injecting your thoughts and opinions about my posts....your comments are NOT welcome!

Like I said....you are heading towards a headline. You openly admit you get pissed at a harmless post. Stay away from the light Glen. Maybe you need one of those stress reliever balls. Or go into town and start squashing Volkswagens with your bare hands to release some of that anger. Worst thing you can do is be all pent up in that trailer when you blow like Krakatoa.

Back up on that hard eight and press the six!

Glen,

Maybe someone was baiting you? Ever think of that? Maybe they are smarter than you think and knew exactly what to start the thread with in order to get you to bite. And bite you did!

Let me play devils advocate for a moment. Let’s say the OP believes he has been a mechanic for 50 years. That would mean he is at least late 60’s to early 70 years old. This is of course under assumption that the OP wasn’t setting up tables at the age of 14. But, who really knows. Only common sense can tell you that probably wasn’t the case. Since this was his first post at 70 years old then again chances are he never read any of the previous threads regarding pocket angles, rail extensions or cushion nose height and the differences between all mentioned. Maybe and just maybe he has been working on tables for 50 years and is just learning about not only this site but, that any of this information even existed. Not much available on the net outside of AZ. Now if this individual is 70 ish then they are from the era where most are computer illiterate. To him a table mechanic is someone that setup a table, leveled it, sealed the seams and recovered it. If that’s the case does that make him or her an idiot? Rather than be nice to them and maybe forwarding the thread link(s) that have already been posted to guide them to the correct information you bash not only the OP but, every response to the thread. Forwarding the link would have much easier than bashing and dragging Mark into your lynch mob.

I don’t know why you find it easier to try and belittle people rather than guide them. You would be better not to respond at all.

Tell you what ThinSlice, I was on the fence with AZB, as to if it was even worth the headache to post here anymore, but you buddy, have made my mind up for me....its not worth it having to deal with all the assh*&÷les on AZB just like you, so take my place, I'm done. I'm just going back to doing my own thing, and none of the people like you deserve to know what I'm up to, and if I have ANYTHING to do with it, AZB will be the last in line to find out what I'm doing, or what I'm up to.

See you in a while.

Upon return, if you wish, we can make a permanent arrangement

Mr. Wilson,
I am retired and can moderate AZB Forums a lot. Hopefully I can stop a lot of the flame wars. People are leaving AZB because threads turn into ones like this. AZB used to be a "Voice" in the world of pool. Now its turning into stuff like this.

Make me a Mod, I can help AZB. At least give me a trial.

I hope you get it.
Anytime someone hijacks someone's thread to push an agenda, delete his posts.

Worst advice I've ever seen given on AZB for working on pockets. 1 degree =1/16" of an inch change in a pocket opening, 3 degrees is almost a 1/4" wider at the back of the pocket on both sides as you suggest, do you plan on sanding a 1/4" of the formica back on both sides of the throat and leave the pocket casting overhanging the throat of the pocket too....LOL then, if you opened the throat of the pocket as you suggest, do you realize how much more slate shelf is exposed so balls have even more room to sit in the throat of the pockets!

I've talked about and explained how to correct pocket miters, down angles, the cause and effect of the changes for YEARS here on AZB, Mark Gregory and I BOTH have....and this is the best advice you can come up with....wow.

And to the OP, when you say you're a pool table mechanic, and have 50 years experience.....just what do you mean by a pool table mechanic with 50 years experience, when you're asking BASIC questions like what you're asking about. What kind of things have you done to work on pool tables for 50 years, to call yourself a pool table mechanic. And as been mentioned, pictures would be great, I tell everyone lead off with pictures so everyone can see what you're looking at as well. Last question, you said you refinished this table, what color was it painted on the rail skirts before you refinished them?
Glenn, let's keep it polite.
