Pool shoes????
Assuming this is a serious question, I have to say it is a good idea.
We spend hours on our feet while playing pool. Why not have shoes that give us good support, great comfort and still look good?
My wife and I go to a lot of tournaments and along the way we started noticing the shoes worn by players. If you check out the footware of a lot of professional players, you will see that they wear some of the most comfortable looking shoes I have ever seen.
they already make them, they are called running shoes or just sneakers, or inserts in your shoes "are you gellin'?"
Not original. They had "Stance" pool shoes back in the early 80's. I had a couple of pairs of them.

Sherm...I remember those, but never actually saw a pair. Did they work? I know when I'm working exhibitions all day, with dress shoes on, my feet are usually killing me after 8-10 hrs. I've heard Ecco makes a really comfortable shoe. I've tried those Dr. Scholl gel insoles, but they don't really do much for me.

Did they have an 8-ball patch? I'd buy a pair.
Scott, I"m going to do you a solid here. Two words.
Johnston and Murphy. Dress shoes that feel almost like slippers. It's gonna cost you $125 to $150, but they will last for years, and your feet will thank you. I'm a customer for life !!!
And how could a pool instructor not have a pair of shoes with the name "Johnston" ??
I would go with a better insole such as spenco or superfeet. I know you are in the chicagoland area a lot, and a place called running for kicks makes nice off the shelf orthotics that would be a lot better also, and they aren't eral expensive. Its on 127th and Harlem in palos.
Being that you have to wear dress shoes, it may benefit you to go to a good shoe store and ask for something with a lot of arch support. Rockports are the first brand that comes to mind, but certainly not the only worthy brand.
I stand all day at my job, and if I don't wear good shoes with some cushion and good arch support, I start waking up with heel pain. I see a lot of people with foot and heel pain because I work with a few different area podiatrists, and I almost always have to recommend an improved shoe to help control their arch positioning. It may due you some good also. In the same area as Running For Kicks is a great shoe store called Golden Shoes that is very knowledgeable about shoes. I always get my dress type shoes there. They are between 122nd and 123rd street on Harlem on the west side of the road.
Hope this helps some.
