The OP should have added "I Like Cake" to the poll. I would have voted for Cake.

Honestly, this is in poor taste. If Grady wants to make a public spectacle of himself, let him. I've put him on ignore. To add Jasmin to this folly is not necessary.

Mosconi's stroke occurred when he was in his early forties, and the post-stroke world 14.1 championship he won was in 1957 at age 44. In 1966, aged 53, he retired from competition, no longer sufficiently competitive at the highest level. Yes, Jasmin would have beaten the 60-year old Willie Mosconi, though she'd have had been an underdog against both the 60-year old Joe Balsis and the 60-year old Irving Crane. Still, these three are on the short list of the greatest players of all time, long-time Hall of Famers, and even Grady wouldn't count himself in their company.

It's always good to hear THE REAL FACTS. Thank you sir.

I believe you will find the Board's opinion is that your effort is in poor taste.

Thread Fail.

I value your opinion although I find it somewhat absurd that seeking an opinion on who would come out on top between two stellar players is in poor taste. If I asked if the board felt one or the other was an a$$hole that would be in poor taste, asking if one could beat the other in their sport is not.

New Poll topic: Who thinks PAMike's poll was in poor taste? I agree with Black-Balled, so the vote is:

Good taste - 0
Poor taste - 2

Leave Jasmin out of this. Grady has his own agenda right now. The post may have not been in poor taste about a month ago. However, given the controversy regarding Grady and the invitational 14.1 event, your poll is in poor taste. The game will never happen. Grady wants to gamble, Jasmin doesn't. END OF STORY. LET'S JUST LET THE GRADY TOPICS REGARDING CW DIE.

I'm approaching this poll in terms of 14.1 only.

I have seen both of these players recently compete in 14.1 events. Grady 2 or 3 years ago in maryland. Jasmine at the world championships.

In an even race to 500, Jasmin crushes him. She's out in less than 20 innings (probably less than 15) he's out in 75! In gradys last 3 public 14.1 events (dcc and 2 Maryland straight pool events), I believe Grady didn't run 20 balls in any of the events.

At some point, it's no longer about "practice", and more about physical ability. No secret, and not shameful to say that EVERYONES physical skills diminish with age. In this case, it's not like Grady hasn't played pool and is out of stroke. He owns a room from Christs sake......

But as stated, Jasmin, as well as Thorsten and ralf, don't ever gamble. I've offered to stake Thorsten many times. Wouldn't even do it for me.

Gee, isin't the moral of all this is that everybody is entitled to their opinion, and should be able to express that opinion, respectfully, to anyone they want on the board without fear of retribution, being put on ignore or being accused of attacking when they didn't?
Your opinion that my poll is in poor taste doesn't anger me, doesn't make me think any less of you, doesn't provoke me to ignore or dismiss you. You have a valid opinion that you backed up with avalid statement that I respect while disagreeing with.

Edit - I guess I am wrong with the above statement, I received "Bad Rep" for the poll. I am stupefied.

Maybe the match might happen.
Most of us have played a lot of money matches knowing there was no gambling involved. Although your opponents thought they were gambling.

MY God!

This is the Bobby Riggs/Billie Jean King match of Pool. This matchup would draw a lot. I, although, respect Stu's (SJM) and Randy's (NYCDude) opinions quite a bit. Jasmin wins any match playing even, a 160 spot to 500 is a tossup though.

Grady yesterday

Grady 10 years ago would have clean Jasmin clock. Grady at one time was a very serious money player. Years can slow us down.

The voters must be voting on who would win an all-around. I cant believe anyone would think Grady could win in straight pool even-up. While he has been throwing a lot of 8's @ people, Jasmin has 3 top 10 finishes in the World Straight Pool Championship. It is not close-at all!

I was assuming straight pool, and I still believe she would win fairly easy. He has no chance in 8 ball, I watched a lot of his matches in the IPT, he never advanced out of the round robin stages. Allison beat him so bad I was embarassed for him. Jasmin would be the one STEALING.

But as we all know, she does not gamble. So until they match up in a tournament we will never know.

Allison and Grady did a tour of challenge matches several years ago. I think they played 9 ball and Grady had the advantage.

Grady is a well seasoned Complete pool player. He can play all games properly. I don't know Grady's physical state, but If he can make still make a bridge, she would get decimated. Stroke Vs knowledge? Don't you have to have knowledge of what a stroke is? How can she be at Grady's level is she dosen't play one-pocket? Well he might lose if they play on buckets.

I don't know what decimated is, but I guess you mean that Jasmin has absolutely no chance in such a match-up. If so, I believe you unfortunately have no idea of what you are talking about.

Yes, you need to have knowledge of what a stroke is. What I meant was that Grady is perhaps the most knowledgable 14-1 player alive, while Jasmin has one of the purest and best stroke there is. I am sorry you didn't get that.

She isn't on Grady's level, she is above him right now. She has finished 3rd in the World 14-1 Championship, and 5th and 9th, before she turned 22 years at age, beating John Schmidt, Oliver Ortmann and Mika Immonen, to name a few.

Btw, if you need to play one-pocket well to be at the highest level, then I guess that Thorsten Hohmann, Ralf Souquet, Niels Feijen, Darren Appleton, Chia Ching Wu, Ronato Alcano and most other overseas players are not at the level of the American players... One-pocket is almost only played in America, and most of the top oversea pro's only play one-pocket 3 days a year, at DCC...

Champions are champions and they can play any game.Jasmine is a champion. All she needs is 7-14 days of training and practice in one pocket. She then will show what she can do in one pocket. She can torture many of the top one pocket players of USA.My money always will be on Jasmine.
