Was anyone fortunate enough to have made a trip to the grand opening of Grady Mathews' new pool room yesterday? I hope he had a great day, with many many more in the future.
 
yep, but it wasn't me. but if i won't have any business trips nearby soon, i will fly there just to have been there.
 
Past the first day

Our first day went well. Steady traffic all day and we had lots of fun meeting so many people. I watched a young guy practice for three hours. He has a great stroke and looks like he has a bright future if he keeps at it.
 
Good to hear your first day was a success, Grady. I'm sure that kid will gain a lot of speed if he picks up any of the pearls of wisdom you are kind enough to drop his way. I wish I lived near you that's for sure.

I imagine you see alot of potential great players in your travels. I know you have offered tutorage before for both ladies and men.

I think I can imagine you similiar to the Paul Newman...."That kids has a hell of break...."

There's so much talk about Keith in this movie, but I have to say that Grady's character was one of my favorite in the movie.

Cast of characters...

While in that movie there were a cast of characters....

In every pool hall I go to, there are as many or more "characters".

One of the locals who was a pro player and still is best in town, said that every pool hall has the exact same cast of characters in every pool hall.

Nits, losers, champs, great guys, etc.

I dont know if I believe it or not, but I think about it when I go to a new place.

in my travels i have seen the same thing....that is what makes the game interesting and like walking into the Cheers bar....where everybody knows your name :D
