Hand Delivered By Barry Szamboti...Dream Come True

I want to thank everyone for the great comments so far. It surely was a dream come true for me to visit with Barry and have this cue hand delivered. I've bought, sold and traded a lot of cues over the past few years but I will be holding on to this one for as long as possible. This cue will be my only "collector" cue. Words cannot express how proud and lucky I feel to own such a masterpiece.

Now the search is on for the perfect case. Hey Ron....tap....tap....tap....knocking at your door buddy lol

Thanks Ya'll, John

Oh stop... You are from New York...

Unbelievable experience... Wonderful cue...

Congratulations John,
Chris

Hey Chris,
From New York..Yes..
But, not from the Dark Side..
It's like routing for IBM being a Yankee fan..
Best,

Barry should be wearing that Phillie shirt,he is probably just hoping to meet anybody but the YANKEES this world series because we beat him last year

I say no more I could easily end up on the LIST

FS - Oh No!
I could only dream of a cue directly from Barry.

It is a beauty and hoping the new owner enjoys it.

What I do with my cues is my business. Barry knows about the sale and why I sold the cue. He knows I did not order this cue years ago just to flip it. Shit comes up in life that we cannot control. Barry and I are good. That's all that matters.

You are absolutely correct in what you do with your cues is your business. In my opinion the other forum members are shocked it only took 48 hours for you to sell this cue after your statement as shown above. People wait a lifetime for the opportunity to receive a Barry Szamboti. It appears to happen often with you as also shown with the Tascarella.

This is just my interpretation of the comments written on this thread.

What a Szam!!!

John, That has to be my favorite Szamboti of all times. It's nice to see how these top cuemakers keep raising the bar. There is just a perfect harmony in that masterpiece. Enjoy it in good health sir!

This is so true! Sometimes sh*t does come up in life. Oddly enough, it seems like sh*t comes up for you a lot... right after you get a big cue. If I were you, I'd refrain from starting threads about cues that are gorgeous and keepers, etc., etc.. Maybe there really are some unexpected circumstances that popped up. But to 99% of the people who view this thread, it looks like you just plain flipped it. And if that's the case, that's just a shame.

I think Barry looks good in his shirt and glad to see him in good spirits and looking healthy. But i am a true fan of his.

No dog in this hunt....BUT....

The man paid for this cue with his own money. That means he owns it. What he does with it is nobody's business (except, perhaps, for the buyer who he sold it to)...nor does anyone have the right to tell him whether or not he's right or wrong in selling it.

From someone who has had to sell more cues than I care to count due to unforseen circumstances, I completely understand. Maybe his plan, all along, was to turn a profit. Maybe he planned on being buried with it. Maybe he was going to keep it for a year or two...but life got in the way. Nobody knows except for him...and nobody should feel they are entitled to stand in judgement of him because he made the decision to sell.

I'm happy for him that he was able to get one from Barry. I'm happy he's got the memories of picking it up in person. I feel bad for him that he's got things going on that require the sale of such a great cue.

End of the day, though...it's his right to do whatever he wants to do with it. I'm sure he's having a hard enough time, as it is, letting it go. People chiming in with their "HOW COULD YOU???" comments ain't making life any easier.

Sorry you had to let it go, runout...but congrats on the sale. Take care, sir.

Also no dog in the hunt but....

I think most of the people are upset because of some facts - John works in Afghanistan( i read sometime before) and if john influenced Barry to make a cue for him and Barry sympathize what he is doing for the country and made him a cue whereas several other people are waiting on his list with equal or more money to get a cue, but Barry gave them a pass and gave john a cue much sooner. And suddenly something comes up on the second day of the cue he got.

I am sure something serious might have come up with John that he has to sell this beauty,

The fact of the matter is he got a cue before, may be way before actual time of waiting and he sold it on 2nd day,
Why did barry make cue quickly for him?

Doesn't really make much of a difference, does it?

Nobody held a gun to Barry's head to make that cue for John. Barry made him the cue for whatever reasons he had...as is his right. John bought the cue with his own money...as is his right. John decided to sell the cue....again, as is his right.

I do understand that there are a ton of folks "in line" to get a cue from Barry. I'm sure most in that line will be inclined to say that they'll be buried with the cue Barry makes for them. That's great...and I'm sure they're completely sincere about their intent to keep it forever.

Sounds to me like a ton of folks are upset about something the owner decided to do with his property...primarily because it's not what THEY would do, if the cue was made for them. When their time comes, they can do with their cues what they want...as is there right.

Alot of dog-piling on John for doing what he's allowed to do.

Cue appears to be sold, so the thread should be dead now. Hopefully the name calling and shot-taking will die with it.

I agree but the general sentiments are did he misreprent facts to barry to get a cue quicker to sell it at a price much more than he got the cue for.

If he sold for exact same price he bought from Barry everyone would be more than happy.

I had a whole paragraph typed out but it's not worth it.

And by the way I'm keeping the cue. Thanks to everyone who made positive comments about the cue. It sure is a beauty.
