If I missed it-sorry. If so-it's worth another mention IMHO.

Congratulations to Frank 'Dabarbr' and his teammates on third place in Vegas in the APA 3-man masters competition.

Frank isn't a man to toot his own horn. So here's a third party toot.

Good job! Frank. And Fach. And Nick. of the 3 Amigos/II?

Good shooting gentleman.

Frank is a great guy and he's also a first rate teacher, coach, and the most knowledgeable pool player I've ever known.

If anybody of any level gets a chance to play him - just do it. The more you know the more you will appreciate him!

Congrats ! But I looked for their team on the APA listings and it looked like they must have changed the team name. Or am I mistaken?

Thanks to all for the kind words. We played as the California Three Amigos, the name that we used before.

This the first time back to this tourny for me in four years. I have played in it six times and have placed first three times, one second, and two thirds. It gets harder every year. Exhausting ordeal for four days but fun. My thanks to my team mates also. Fach, my long time student and Nick Spano, a former student of John Schmidt.

In that case, my consolation on your 3rd place finish! Seriously though, that's consistent playing!

Boy oh boy, am I glad I caught this thread. That Dabarbr has been flying under radar for too long. This should be in the outted thread.

Good shooting, Three Amigos, II!

Frank came by the booth and was very honest when talking about his game and strategy for the Vegas event, said he used to love being the 1st player out to help set the tempo in a positive direction. He said now he's going to be sending Fach out to play 1st since his nerves/focus/whatever isn't what they used to be.

It's a big person to face up to that fact and make adjustments for the team's sake instead of being egotistical and keeping things the way they were. Frank is an awesome player, awesome person and I hope to be as successful as he is both on and off the table.
