He has decided to share his news :(

Grady,

I'm sorry to hear the news, but will hope that a miracle comes thru for you.

We met, years ago, at dinner, at the US Open. You came with another friend of ours that sadly, has passed on.

Hoping for some good news,

Eric

It's good to know you've a strong backing of friends and family Grady who will be with you, always rooting for you, always sending out their prayers. You are lucky, and that luck is born from your constant and tireless efforts. Not just as a pool player, but as a man. I hope you enjoy your time and it is filled with those people who make you smile the most. There's nothing to fear when you're surrounded by good. You won't be forgotten. So sit back, enjoy a rest and let the people who care remind you everyday you've done more than what could have been asked, more than anyone could have expected. Enjoy your family, remind them it will be ok.

Thanks Grady for not only teaching us, but touching our lives in a positive way! The pool world is better because of you, praying for you and the family. May the love of God keep you and the peace of Christ give you comfort!!!

It is with deepest reget that I announce that my father has been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. I know how much he is loved in his community, and now that he has decided to share his news...Here is his address at the hospice.
815 Old Cherokee Rd Lexington, SC 29072 Camelia Court 407A
I am sure he would love to read letters from any of his friends and fans.

I'm so sorry to hear about your dad.
Beyond the thought of the pool world losing an icon like Grady, you're his daughter and that means more than any pool related story or tournament he ever won.

My sincere wish that he lives the rest of his life with those nearest and dearest to him at his side.

There are no words to express my graditude for what you have given me and countless other players all over the world.
Our Greek forefathers had 2 main principles on their thinking: Logic and "hystheropheme" ("after-fame").
The fisrst served as a valuable tool in order to progress.
The second was equally important, it is about what other people would think of them (of their life's work) after they were gone.
You have achieved what quite few people have achieved. You passed your light of knowledge throughout the planet.
Your heritage will follow forever.
God be with you.

Great post Petros. I can't say it any better, so I'll just "ditto" what you said.

All the best Grady.

I will treasure the two lessons that I had with you while in SC. THank you for the time you took to share your knowledge of this game that we love.

ME

A legacy of excellence

I think I have every Grady instructional tape that has been done. Grady-you are the reason that I still have a VCR.

You have left a terrific body of work, and one only has to say 'Grady says..' in a pool discussion to arrive at the authoritative answer.

I so regret not making it to the HT, Bellflower upstairs seminar that Martin/Jazznpool speaks so highly of-not sure if that was your last motorhome tour to the west coast.

Thank you Grady for so many memories and stories that will be retold countless times.

Best wishes to you and your family in this difficult time.

Take care

Grady Mathews My Daughter posted sensitive personal health information about me without my knowledge or consent. My doctor has never used the word "terminal" with me. I saw the word first on her post. I'm going through chemo, First three done, next three start Oct 27th. I had hoped to finish the 10 chemo treatments, then get a long term prognosis, maybe followed by rehab. Please don't call me, voice is shot. Don't have time or inclination to do E-mail. Love and prayers will help Love Grady 38 minutes ago

Fight the good fight like I know you will.
