Was sorry to hear that DCC is cancelled for 2007. I don't know this to be a fact but the news is attributable to someone reliable. I heard that The DCC just was not pencilling out! That was surprising based on the number of entries into all events and the addition of the bat box stuff across the street. Hats off to Greg and everyone else who made DCC a very worthwhile event. I hope it can return in some way in 2008.

update:I called the number it's for diamond products and they are closed till Monday, I will call back Monday unless Jam gets hold of Greg today and asks him. I don't expect to get a response from the email if they are closed today.

I hope this is a rumor of some sort, but one never knows. I know that the DCC brings so much joy to pool folk around the world each and every year in January. Some people make this their once-a-year event to attend because of the multitude of activities, tournaments, action, vendors, and best of all, seeing their friends each year in Louisville.:)

I do know that Greg hasn't been feeling well the past couple of years, and it may be that this MAJOR extravaganza is difficult to bring to fruition if he's dealing with other things in his life. :(

Anybody who knows Greg is well aware of his deep passion for the DCC. When you talk to him about it, his eyes actually sparkle. He loves the DCC just as much as we do, even though it involves a major amount of planning well ahead of time.

I may give him a call today to see if he is okay and if, in fact, the DCC has been cancelled. I wish Greg and his lovely wife the very best and hope they are doing well.

Hope this is just a horrible rumor. I am spoiled with the DCC and don't think any tourny being organized by the IPT can compare. I also just heard that the US One Pocket Open is being held this year in Louisville at the Executive West in September I think. Consolation prize? :confused:

This cancelling of the Derby City is JUST A RUMOR. The 2007 DCC is scheduled for Jan 5-13, 2007. I have no idea where any kind of rumor started.

Hope to see everyone there. Keep in mind, the BCA National 9-Ball and the US OPEN ONE POCKET event are also at the Executive West. That all happens on August 29 - Sept. 3, 2006. Also Banks and 10 ball events. Go to www.playbca.com to download the info brochure.

The US Open now has $10,000 added (with a full field of 64). Some of the added money is from www.9ballpoker.com. (Please go to that site and support those that support pool.)

A major portion of the operating profits from www.9ballpoker.com will be added directly back into pool added prize funds! If this gets rolling, it could be HUGE!

Mark, thank you for clearing this up. Even though last yr was my first yr, I'm already to a point where I'm not quite sure what I would do without it. LOL, I've done nothing but talk about it and look forward to next yr since I left this yr. :)

You guys put on a phenomenal show and like cueandcushion said, there's nothing out there that can compare to it. It doesn't matter how fancy the IPT gets or how nice the hotels in Vegas are.... the DCC is a dream come true for the hardcore, "old skool" pool fanatics like myself and the majority of folks on here. :cool:
 
Well if it is on I am Looking For a Ride from Phoenix. Will Share Driving, and Gas. Otherwise it is the Dog for me....

Don't worry about it. Just buy everyone that read this thread a drink, and I think then we can let bygones be bygones. Of course, since you completely ruined my day it will have to be a very, very, large drink.

Are you sure you don't want me to "jimmy" the raffle (in your favor)???? Rumor is, I can be bought (at least that's what breakup believes....but of course he's schizophrenic....well, nevermind).

If you seriously want to take a credibility hit against your reliable source, I say you post his/her name. You didn't hesitate to quickly post a rumor that could damage the DCC. Mark & Greg both have emails & you could have inquired first before you posted something like this. :mad:
 
I wouldn’t be too worried about it jazznpool, Williebetmore was likely the original source of the rumor in a lame attempt to duck our match.

That was freaky; I just posted it once. Some sort of computer glitch (I deleted the extra's). Geez, I hope breakup didn't see it, I'll never hear the end of it...

As for breakup scaring me.....PREPOSTEROUS. That girly man needs to pump himself up, get a spine transplant, and bring some game to the DCC - I'll be there (well, unless I think I might lose).
