HELP: Forum "Lingo" and Basics

Welcome to AZB...there's lots of Bill's friends here. Does he have an aiming system too?
:p

FriendofBillW:

And that's a good one right there:

NPR = Non-Pool Related, a forum here that is the veritable "bit bucket" (black hole) of AZBilliards. They do NOT talk about pool there.

If you are ever concerned about your total post count (you'll notice all the posters have a post count under the "Status" line under their screenname/avatar), all you have to do is cross the event horizon into the Non-Pool Related forum, and you'll be sucked up into an abyss. You'll have to find ways of breaking Einstein's Theory of Relativity, by escaping NPR's immense gravity. But once you do, you'll find out that you'll emerge from the event horizon with 10,000+ posts credited to your total post count, and much wearier/haggard from the experience. Don't do that until you're ready, though. Some posters have crossed the event horizon and never returned.

You've been warned! :)

-Sean

Boy, ain't that the truth, Sean. I remember the elders telling scary tales of NPR around the campfire at AZB overnight camp when I was a boy.

Stay away from the NPR forum, where mods lurk with sharp teeth and blood on their hands.

Check the Snooker forum - the gentlemen's game :D

Be warned:
Throughout this site lurk trolls who will attack you.
Don't argue or retaliate in kind.
Ignore them.
You need not point out that they are idiots, we already know what they are.

We need to adjust the spot

Welcome to the forums.

In many ways AZ can be like being in your local poolroom. Stuff happens.

Have fun. Protect yourself at all times.

Take Care

It's okay to ask questions and help BUUUUTTTTTTT, please learn how to use the search function too. People are more than willing to help here but sometimes, are just tired of repeating themselves. Welcome to the forum!

Ignore this post. ric23 is probably a a really nice guy but he doesn't spend enough time on the Main Forum to understand that your questions are welcome and the members are always willing to give you advice on how to get the effing ball in the hole. You will also get links for information to follow.
These are invaluable and will open up the pool world to you.

Oh shit! One exception. If you want info on aiming systems,

Use the effing Search Function!!!

:welcome:

Welcome to the forum. Here are some things you will need to know:

AZB Orientation:

1) Garbage is collected on Mondays.

2) The showers are in the main forum, down the hall on the left.

3) Do not put chalk face down on the rails.

4) The toilets are located directly above the “Ask the Instructor” area. The door is marked “Non Pool Related”. Take air freshener because it gets foul in there sometimes.

5) See Jay Helfert for your bunk assignment.

Welcome to AZ! Since everyone else has schooled you on some of the tricks of the trade I'll suggest:

Go back and read anything started by SmorgAssBored....probably belongs in the AZ HOF.

Read anything by JAM...I've never seen her post anything that didn't make me smile and / or think.

Finally, never shave or post when you're angry. Or have had too much to drink. Don't ask how I learned this.

Enjoy your time in the greatest collection of pool info on the web.
