This unfinished shaft was included with some old brunswick cues i bought. I thought is was maple until i sanded the grunge off, and put a sealer on.
Any ideas ????

No

It is not ramon, it also is not ramin.
Photos have to be large enough to see the grain.

It's an albino revo.
Sorry, couldn't resist. :grin-square:

Looks like a funky lacewood .

Dave, Ramon was Pablo Escobar's cousin, wasn't he ?

Thank you, i thought it might be birch, but had never seen a birch shaft up close.

Joeyincali, i have most of the carbon fiber materials and adhesives, the " carbon chuck shaft " cant be for behind. Stay tuned

That photo looks really close to the same grain. Now im really confused

It does look very similar. But I think I am wrong.

Considering how rare one is versus how common the other is, bet on the more common one.

As soon as I saw your pic I remembered that Joss post though. Pretty obscure, surprised I remembered. But I have synesthesia and think in abstract pictures. My memory is strange and does not work like most.

When Danny and I were working together at Joss Cues we were having difficulty finding clear shaft wood.

After some research we discovered Arieno Blanco, a wood from Central America.

It was a cream color with a fine overall grain.

We made a few shafts and it was very stable but very light and too soft.

We stopped using it very quickly.
