Good for you! That's a thoughtful and generous offer.
Jim Sward .............. Trevor.... how's our boy doin today?
He's hanging in there. He's developed a fever overnight last night and the doctors are awaiting blood cultures to try and decide if there is an infection somewhere that we are going to have to deal with and try to treat now. Unfortunately treating him with most antibiotics actually worsens some of the conditions caused by his E. Coli infection. It doesn't make sense but there really is no treatment for the E.Coli and they want to know
exactly what would be causing his fever before trying any type of antibiotic for it as it may worsen some of the other symptoms he's having due to the E. Coli, if that makes sense?
We had some issues with him trying to take some acetemitophen overnight, he hates the liquid form and the nurses tries to force some on him and he became very vomity afterwards and the poor little guy was just trying to rest at that point in the middle of the night. We had to try the chewables a couple of different times before he was able to keep them down w/o becoming sick but just before I left his room several minutes ago to come get some coffee (the elixir of the Gods to me at this point

) they checked his temp and it was finally getting back close to normal so hopefully he'll be in fairly good spirits when he gets enough rest and comes around this morning.
We hope some of his blood tests continue to show improvement today. He's kind of bottomed out on some of the tests and showed very slight improvement late yesterday so we hope that trend continues.
My wife and I had another very short night's sleep overnight next to his bed due to some of the issues with the fever and the tries to get some aspirin in him to reduce the fever but we're holding up as well as can be expected after what's getting close to a week by his bedside here in the Hospital. I only leave his bedside a few times/day to get a bite to eat or a cup of coffee and a quick update here on the computer. He's definitely a Daddy's little boy and I wouldn't have it any other way.
I keep saying thank you to you all and I will continue to do so, the AZ family is simply awesome!
Thanks for letting me have a few minutes away from the heartache so I can update you all. It's becoming sort of like my own little therapy down here on the public computer just to get away from the doctors/nurses and his room with him on the IV lines and the monitors/etc.
I'll try to get a chance to get the raffle going for the Schon STL-4 that my great friend Jim donated towards Joshua later today. It's a new never chalked/never hit cue out of his extensive private collection he has. I'm thinking I'll probaly use the 46 spot type @ $10/spot.
Troy (koinkid) maybe you can help get that one up and running for me? You can call me, you have my #.
I'd better get off of this thing for now and try to get something to eat and head back up to his room and check on him. I'll try to throw in another short update later today. Thanks for eveything!
Trevor
