Help sponsor Larry Nevel at the DCC - $100 per share

with all included it will cost about 1900.00 to go. with that you will get your money back first and then split the winnings from there. the all around bonus you will get 25% of that.

Hi Larry. A ton of people here have a ton of respect for you. Please enlighten us on how your # of $1900 itemizes out. Not that you have to, duh, as it's your offer and each can decide on their own.

I was thinking about it. Key word "was".

imo larry should have posted intents and purposes for required moneys.
now he don't look so good !

I'm out. Johnnyt

Is there a chance he forgot about the free room in his calculation? If so, and he posts an "OOPS, my corrected stake is:

$640 for entries and buybacks
$300 for food
$260 for transportation
_____
$1200"

I'd like to believe Larry wouldn't be so deceptive and naive to think the collective brain trust here couldn't do some math... I mean, I hadn't heard anything but good things about Larry.

Let him have a chance to reply before crucifying him.

well the collective brain trust was already in for $1200 before someone had the nerve to ask. experienced gamblers getting played. yikes.

Seriously, we should not jump to any conclusions before Larry has a chance to speak. Minutes after someone mentioned the free hotel/entry, and already people are bailing out all over the place. Have a little patience, give the man a chance to explain, and then see if you still like the idea of sponsoring him. No wonder pros warn each other not to post here.

This doesn't make Larry look bad. He asked for the amount he needed if he didn't get the entry for free and free hotel... why should anyone get to free ride and only put up the entry fee? I'm a nit and id buy a share, but no paypal.

I dont think anyone should jump to any conclusions. Larry should just explain what he was thinking about the nut amt needed. Im still very interested, Id just like to know what the deal is exactly.

Are you going to DCC?

Ill side with larry on this, why in the world would he offer half of himself for anything less than 2k? Take out his hotel and entry fee, what does everyone in here think would be fair, he just want his travel put up? Hmm offer up half of himself for a 100 bucks, seems legit.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I understand Mr. Mills argument. a pro player feels like he deserves something/edge for being a pro player. agreed. however if you ask strangers for money you need to lay out the deal and provide full disclosure or it can look like you're trying to take advantage of a mark. image is everything. much more valuable than an entry fee. and we know how much gamblers enjoy feeling like they got the edge in the deal.

You bring up a good point, one that could and probably will be debated.

Larry won that room. Why should he have to share those winnings with a stakehorse that had nothing to do with his winning it? Maye he could have been more forthright in his offer, but maybe he's not a great communicator on a forum...

Kat, his entries are paid. He only has to pay for the buybacks.

His original post asked for a sponsor, not an az corporation. Lets take off hotel and entry fee. Gas, food, and buy backs. Lets just put that total at 500 bucks. Why would a player of larrys caliber give up HALF of himself plus a quarter of the all around for 500? that would be retarded.

Oh hell, I missed where you stated "and entry" in your post after your discussion with Mr Sullivan.

Well then, with that knowledge, how are we to interpret his saying "with all included it will cost @ $1900 to go." ?

"With all included it will cost any player who's never won the all around that has to drive from @ 700 miles away and buys 4 pots of coffee, 6 cinnabuns, and 3 cheezeburgers a day @ $1900."

Yup, that's what he said. I used my secret decoder ring.

I am still in as long as Larry gets on here and clarifies. I assumed, which I guess I shouldn't have done, that he needed the $$$ for airfare, hotel, and entry fees. I was curious at the time about any action winnings he makes if he has a backer or if some of our $$$ was part of his stake.

He found the time to come on here and ask for $$$, if he can't find the time to post again then I am out. If he posts and states how he came up with the number he needed then I am in no matter where it is going.

Question to those who stake players: So let's say part or most of the $2K goes to gambling (on pool), would it be unreasonable to assume the 50% split of winnings still applies? Or if someone there backs him on a TAR match or whatever, would we get half of his half of the winnings (25% to Larry, 50% to backer, 25% to us)? Or should we only expect tournament winnings to be shared? I am curious on what the accepted pool etiquette is on this.

The 2k gets half of his tourny action and 25% of his all around if he cashes in it.
