I just wanted to say thanks to Tiger Products, I have been playing with their medium layered tips and I find them to be top quality all the way. My buddy Crown City Corey sent me some to try and I like these tips better than any other I have tried, I am constantly practicing in the basement - trying to work on my game. I probably play on an average of 4 hrs. a day, I have had the same Sniper tip on my cue now for 2 yrs. and it looks and plays perfect. Thanks again Tiger for helping me get my 3rd place finish at the World 14.1 Championships.
Sincerely, Danny Harriman

A Sniper tip used by a pro player on the average of 4 hours a day for 2 years and it still looks and plays perfect is a strong statement for a pool cue tip!

I'll agree with Danny, when i had a Sniper tip, put onto my Gilbert, I played with with for a few games and then had it re-trimmed. And after that, I never had to touch it. Probably one of the best tips, i've ever used.

Now, I have a Tiger Soft on my ( BHQ ) and I was a bit leary at first, but the tip plays AWESOME!!!!!!! I even sometimes break with my playing cue, and dont have any mushrooming or anything with the tip, and if I didnt know that it was a SOFT tip, I would have figured it to me a med or med hard tip.

I have no experience with Sniper tips, but recently tried a Dynamite and loved it. They're made by Tiger. I bought three, shared two with friends, and I have one in my case waiting for my Talisman Medium to wear out. That may take a while, and I'm very satisfied with Talisman as well.

Glad to see Danny giving Jeff Olney his props ! I know that he always does and I honestly don't think that there are any fussier or flat better cuemakers out there. Jeff is as good as it gets. When you consider how well his cues play, and their great construction, and the good looks, it's simply AMAZING that they sell for anything NEAR what they do. Even an Olney marked up $100-$200 on the used market is a great buy ! I'm surprised that the backlog isn't 10 years instead of just 5 or 6 !

Good luck in the All Around Challenge Danny...Tom

I was just watching you on the Derby City Bank Ring Game tape.

That's mighty nice of you to acknowledge Tiger and Corey Harper. I know Corey will be very pleased to hear this personal thank you coming from you. He's got a busy weekend ahead of him but he should have a computer by Monday.

I've tried them all and I think the Sniper is the best and most consistent firm tip available and they keep improving them. I've tried others but keep coming back to Sniper. I want to try their jump/break tip on my break cue. Their tips do last a long time.

Best of luck in your upcoming Action Challenge match.

I have been using both the Sniper and Everest. Both are fantastic tips. Made in the USA. Wear like iron and don't need to be continuously reshaped or dressed.

Great to see you posting here Danny and promoting your sponsors.

I used to play with Sniper when I had a custom 1-piece saft, and I really loved it. I'd never even think of playing with other laminated tips, maybe only with some processed special handled blue tips.

But, now as I have changed to a low deflection saft (USS), the Sniper tip doesn't seem to be so important, or even a good option anymore. I might have had some problems with the ferrule when I had a Sniper replaced for it, so that might be the case, but now I'm back with Moori medium again.

Does anyone of you have similar experiences? I'm still sometimes wondering if I should try for Sniper again, as it really was great with my custom. It can be that the ferrule wasn't good, sot the saft didn't play well (I have a new saft now), but also as Sniper is more difficult to put properly, it might have been that the work wasn't that good.
It might also be, that with Low Squirt saft the Sniper tip doesn't give the right kind of feed back, as the saft doesn't have the same power as the custom had..

What do you think? Any experiences?

Marvel, I had play before with a Moori Medium on a 314 shaft and I play now with a Z2 shaft since one year. I had first an Everest tip on it. All I can say is that I prefer traditional tips (non laminated) on my Z2 and my 314. I only have the experience with Moori and Everest, I've never tried Snipers. I play now with a Le Pro and I've got a lot more feedback. I also played wit Thweeten Triumph, wich was great too.

Finally, I'm waiting now on my new custom cue and I will try a Sniper tip on one of my shafts.

I'm curious of the result.

Tiger Sniper Tips

2 or 3 years ago I bought a Tiger X shaft with a Sniper tip from Crown City Corey at Valley Forge. I don't play nearly as much as Danny Harriman, but my tip is still like new, no mushrooming. I love the grip and hit. I have confidence using english without miscueing. The hit and feel are great. On occasion at home I will use a different Q in practice rather than open my case. Sure enough I get miscues with other tips, shooting just the same as I would with the Snipers.

I just bought some more Tiger Sniper tips from Big Bubba Shawn Putnam (can recommend him to deal) and will put them on more of my Qs. I can't imagine going back to any other tip. ;)

Hey Danny,

Thanks for your kind words. They are greatly appreciated.

To this day, you are still the only one to have beaten me on my own table  !

Best of luck to you in the upcoming Action Challenge All-Around. I'll be rooting for you!
