He's back

since you guys (mods and owners) banned him and his eleven alter egos, is he still on the members list all 11 of him??? just wondering?

Just so you know, if a member is on a temporary ban, their name still shows up in the directory, and their posts are still viewable. This occurs occasionally here, often by some regular members. They get a time-out, serve that time-out and come back. PP was given that opportunity, but once he began openly starting new usernames the ban became the of permanent variety.

If you push them to the point of a permanent ban, the user name disappears, along with all the posts ever made by that user name.

That's why you can see some of those posts in quotes by someone else when you don't see the post itself in the thread.

Unfortunayely, it is his unwillingness to adhere to the forum rules, etc that will keep him banned. He exhibits a lack of respect for the forum and those who run it by continually trying to get around the ban by creating a new ID.

Had he "served" his temporary ban and come back a little more subdued, he probably could have made it. By doing what he does, he is telling the forum powers that he has a total disregard for their policies and decisions, and that he will do as he pleases. That is not behavior that is of benefit to the forum.

Joe

i had pointed out before, that perhaps his lack of respect was a very astute observation by him that if you say things politely in THIS forum anyway, you'll get like one reponse, no matter how valid your points are.

The PM system must be set up differently... as I checked that system and all of PP's aliases are available as accounts that a PM can be sent to... or so it appears.

if he would have just posted in threads about the topic he was discussing...instead he would keep starting new threads which was annoying (to me). he made fun of bar box players, league players, and instructors etc...

I am no expert on this stuff, by any means.... try initiating a PM to him and see if it lets you. I doubt it will let you.

I just went into the Members List and he isn't there.

Beyond that, it's all just semi-educated guesses from me.

Interesting, though...

i can understand making fun of all 3 :0 especially "instructors". Knowledge to play better pool should be free.

Then it "might" work the other way as well  and some may start a copy and paste campaign. This thread just might overtake the Funny pic/gif Thread in time! ♬♩♪♫♬ And the beat goes on ♬♩♪♫♬ the beat goes on ♬♩♪♫♬

I dont know why you bother even bringing him up responding to him. If you just ignore him he'll go away

Hmmmm

Darn it.. I wish I knew that before I signed up my kid for trombone lesssons, not to mention the tennis camp he went to in Florida.

And jeez, I'm not gonna even mention how much I spend every month for his karate school for the past 3 years, that does not even include the equipment.

Please give me a heads up on any other free stuff that is out there.... I'm spending a fortune on lessons and instruction that I guess is free somewhere??

Why???....

why should knowledge to play pool be free? or make fun of all three?
or both?

Pool instructors crack me up....guys go to them and the first thing they do is tell them that everything they do is wrong, try to change everything they do. and ....confuse them with "systems" and other things.

All a guy needs to know is that he should look down the cue in the same spot every time, have a steady solid bridge, open, closed or elevated. Stroke/followthrou should be strait but not stiff, or robotic but fluid....and dont take your eye off the ball.

if your a beginner and want to get better pretty quick just remember those things and this....set the same shot up and shoot it over and over and over 20 times. Make one small adjustment at a time if the shot isnt going in. change the shot setup and do it again....and remember that getting good at pool will not seem fun in the beginning.

after you get all your fundamentals down pretty solid...
work on your patterns , studdy tapes of pro play. or go to the hall and watch master level players.

about making fun of bartable and league players it was a joke.

Chicago RJ you can walk into a pool hall any where in the country for free and play/observe/ask questions to other players much better than you for the price of a pool game. you cant do that with karate or trombone....ive never seen a place where you just go into a room and its full of trombone players or karate boxers. but you can do it all across the country with billiard games.

apples and oranges you are comparing sir.

Fi Fi Fo Fum, I smell the chalk of an....

If lessons were only that easy. Or rather, self teaching.
We would all be pros, there would be no challenge to the game and we would get bored and quit.

I'm quite amazed at all the recent hatred directed at instructors here.

Not just from double-p, but many others.

Kinda sad. As ChicagoRJ points out, we pay people for lessons in almost any endeavor a person can wish to learn about. Why is pool any different? Actually, with all the intrincities, both physical and mental, it's a no-brainah that lessons would be rather helpful for pool players. I've yet to be able to arrange a formal pool lesson, but it's not for lack of wanting one.

I've taken golf lessons. I've taken karate lessons. (I've given karate lesson, as well.) Many other activities over the years. There is a place for instruction for most things. An activity like pool involves the physical aspects of stroke, bridge, stance and such, as well as the knowledge-base apsects of where to hit the cue-ball and in what situation to achieve the desired reaction. It's not simple, no matter what many folks think. It's actually rather complicated, if you drill down to the core and peel away the layers.

fair enuff...since my opinion doesnt matter maybee i should recind my forum membership and have you guys erase my profile
...that way you cant count me as a member?

Uhhh.."we" don't ban people..that is done by the owners of the site. Most of us here just participate in their free forum abiding by their rules. Its all pretty simple to most of us.

i know a guy that has a hard time making 3 balls in a row....you know what...he passes out business cards with his name and title as a pool instructor.
and whats worse ..people fall for it that dont know better...its sad.

to be an "instructor" you should be a master level player or better. Period.

instinct and feel are what makes great pool players. some people have it naturally and some dont and have to work alot harder to be able to play mindless or lights out..

instruction can help....but why pay for it when there are guys out there at pool halls willing to help for free.

What rule or rules were broken?

How come when certain others do much worse, nothing happens?

How come so many are oversenistive when someones diss their precious little sport, league or value of instructors?

Small, closed minds in people that can't see past their cue stick.

Again, it comes back to the fact that this is not a democracy, its a privately owned forum and business. If you don't like the way the owner and mods run it, you are more than welcome to not participate and support their product. They don't have to answer to you, me or anyone why they choose to do things in a given way. As for PP, his tone was rude, over-bearing and border line psychotic. His actions since his initial ban only support his banishment.

beav.. that's a damn good reply man! you're allright in my book:)

And I suppose you'll be supplying us with a listing of these "rooms" with experts willing to help? Cuz there sure ain't any near me. Don't get me wrong, there are many people who are FAR better players than I an here locally, but that doens't mean they are capable (or willing) to actually teach me anything. Teaching is a whole different animal from having the ability to play well.
